I am a solo traveler, but willing to share a room with someone else on this trip. Is that possible?

As the weather will change over the trip, we wanted advice about whether to go in May or September.

May and September would be great times to visit and we have guaranteed departure dates in both months.

How early should I arrive at the hotel on the starting day?

It's recommended to arrive as early as possible on the starting day, especially before the start of any scheduled activities or tours.

I feel it is very unfair that I am willing to share a room, which I have done on all past trips, but it will now cost me $1300.00 more because of your decision to single-out participants that travel solo. I was excited to book this trip but now reconsidering because of the financial burden required. I am a returning participant and have two other trips planned with AA in 2025. These may be my last ones if it will be required to book with a partner to room with to receive the double occupancy price. It is not easy in my position/age to find people as active as myself and interested in such adventures.

We implemented this change when COVID-19 was at it's highest with the cases. Our Operations Department has decided to continue with that options.

We are interested in the Route 66 trip; however we would like to go when you stop at Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and Hot air balloon show in Arizona.

We have our Highlights of Route 66 and Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta tour available. The tour date will be October 3, 2025.

Is there a single supplement fee for the tour?

Yes, there is a single supplement fee which provides you with private accommodations throughout the tour.

Does the company do this in reverse, starting in LA? Are all the hotel fees and charges, tourist tax etc included in the price?

Unfortunately, we do not do this tour in reverse. Yes, the accommodation includes hotel taxes and service charges.

No extra for single supplement? On this tour?

For this departure, you would be eligible to pay the single supplement. The single supplement is at a cost of $1,915 AUD. This brings the total amount of the tour for a solo traveler to $7,164 AUD.

Can I join the tour after it has started?

You can join the tour after it has commenced, but the price remains the same. It is advisable to arrive early to integrate smoothly.
