  All in all our experience with the tour was good! Hotels were below European/Asian/American 3 stars in quality, however, since little time is actually spend in the hotels themselves, this wasn’t a problem for us. The hotel in Aguas Calientes however, only had 1 exit in case of emergency for the hotel. Sites and activities were diverse, interesting and fun and not too overwhelming at all. Pick ups and drop offs were always on time and decent! Guides were mixed in quality, with some providing valuable information in an interesting way and others reading slideshows. Our only problem with the company was, when we got stuck in Aguas Calientes following a disruption with the local train company. Our train to Ollantaytambo was significantly delayed and we had to organise our return ourselves and couldn’t use our train tickets. We had to do this, since we wouldn’t have been able to catch the bus to Puno the next morning otherwise. As of 3 weeks after the incident we haven’t received compensation from the Peruvian train company nor have we heard anything new about from the tour provider.Show more

We would also like to clarify that the trip you booked was a budget package, which included simple accommodation and group tours, as stated in the program. We always offer our travelers the option to upgrade their hotels and/or choose private services when available. In this case, the standard package was selected and no hotel upgrade was requested. We mention this only to provide context for future travelers who may be reading the review and considering which level of service best suits their expectations. We’re sorry that the quality of some of the guiding did not meet the standard we aim to provide. We take this feedback seriously and will discuss it with our local partners to help ensure a more consistent experience. Regarding the unexpected train disruption in Aguas Calientes, we sincerely regret the inconvenience and stress this situation caused. As you know, the disruption was caused by a fire and a landslide, circumstances that were completely outside our control and affected the local train service. As soon as we became aware of the situation, we remained in communication with you. The following day, we contacted you and explained the alternative option of returning to Cusco by car. Later, we also informed you that the train service was expected to operate, although it could be significantly delayed. After considering the available alternatives, you decided to return to Cusco by car. We completely understand this decision, particularly because you needed to continue to Puno the following morning. Regarding compensation for the disrupted or unused train tickets, any refund or compensation is handled directly by the train company according to its policies. We have been following up regarding this matter and understand your frustration with the time it has taken. We apologize if our updates have not been as frequent as you expected, and we will continue following up with the train operator and communicate any information we receive. Thank you again for choosing Peru & Bolivia Trek 4 Good and for sharing both the positive aspects of your experience and the areas where we can improve.   The trip itself was quite good. I was able to see almost everything I wanted to see. Yuri Chavez was very helpful in keeping me informed as to when we would go to the various sites and when and how my transportation would take place. The only two negatives for the trip were that this was not like other group tours I have been on where the same group of people travel together with common transportation and stay together in the same hotels and that I as the traveler had to arrange my own intra-country transportation including back to the starting point. Those segments of the trip should have been included in the cost even if it meant a higher cost. In regard to the first negative, I felt like I was pretty much on my own in that I was the only one on the tour in a particular hotel or doing a particular activity. It felt as if several semi-independent tours had been put together and the mix of participants for a particular activity was never the same. There was never the chance to get to know your fellow travelers well. Yuri Chavez was my only constant and I appreciate his efforts in communicating the daily schedules and what was needed to follow that.Show more

  We had so much fun! Just landed back in MI after an 11 day adventure with the guidance of Yure. He was great, responsive, and he and all tour guides we friendly and knowledgeable. We were a group of four (myself, husband, 10yo boy and 8yo girl) and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and created memories to last a lifetime. Before the trip was over we were already discussing our next adventure with Peru Trek4Good and/or Tourradar!Show more
