  Overall we enjoyed the sights we saw, we got to experience a lot and we mostly felt safe and well-looked after the whole time. Some things could be improved though - Delhi guide was terrible. He was five hours late for a four hour tour because he double booked himself and was on a different tour with another company when he was meant to be meeting us. He only toured us for two hours and didn’t apologise. He was also very inappropriate with a member of our group. He kept trying to flirt with her and asked for her phone number and pictures with her and the rest of us, and made her feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. He didn’t know what he was talking about when he toured us around Delhi. He was also very disrespectful towards Muslim people when we were visiting mosques. I would not recommend using him in the future. Tour company very hands-off once the tour started, sometimes we felt the support was inadequate, and they don’t respond well to feedback. When we complained about the Delhi guide being 5 hours late the initial response was along the lines of ‘thats not our problem’. In Mumbai we were dropped off at the airport 5 hours before our flight when we asked not to be because the tour didn’t have anything else planned for us to do - it was really frustrating. One of our drivers kept talking to us about tipping him, and how we should tip him about 1000-2000 inr per day, and kept saying it should be 2000 inr because he was looking after us so well. He kept telling us our tour guides were not happy with the tips we were giving them (about 1000 inr per day), to encourage us to give him a bigger tip at the end of the tour. His driving was quite dangerous at times, he would overtake huge trucks, driving into oncoming traffic and was driving very fast and recklessly sometimes. The other drivers were much more safe and did not talk about or ask for tips. On a positive note, our guide in Jaipur, Veena, was fantastic. As three women it was amazing to have a female guide. We really recommend using her in the future. Some small organisational matters that could improve. At every hotel we went to except for one they did not have the third bed ready and were surprised when we asked for it, even though this is what we booked. Also, sometimes the guides didn’t know what we paid for already and what we didn’t (e.g. ride in Delhi market, boat ride in Udaipur). We also never got our ride in Agra or compensation for it even though we paid for this as part of our tour. Taj lands end hotel isn’t great and I wouldn’t recommend it. The hygiene standards were bad and they charged us about five times more than they said they would for our manicures we got there so it felt a bit like we got scammed. For such an expensive hotel I don’t think it’s worth it. The other hotels were great though and the service and amenities were good. Some of the drivers really didn’t speak much English at all except for a couple of words. It was fine in the end but we were expecting English speaking drivers throughout the tour, as promised by the company. On the whole though the drivers were good and on time and the tour guides were too (except the guide in Delhi).Show more

We also regret the organisational gaps you mentioned, including hotel bedding arrangements, clarity on inclusions, the missed Agra ride, and language expectations for drivers.   We loved India. Beautiful country with so much to see. The people were friendly and the monuments stunning, with the countryside equally beautiful. We opted for a 5 star hotel package and were a little disappointed @ the caliber of a couple of the hotels (dated decor, limited food choices, etc.), however, service was always amazing and staff very willing to assist. While the time spent at each location on paper seemed like a good pace, the scheduling of the trip could have been better planned in one area. We spent 2 nights in Agra and only 1 night in Ranthambore National Park. * not enough to see in Agra to warrant 2 nights * would have rather stayed in Ranthambore an extra night to have 2 afternoon safaris, as the morning safaris were too early both for the humans and the tigers during the winter months! * on both safaris there were timing issues - the afternoon ended up being earlier than expected so we had to rush through lunch & the morning one ended up running later than expected meaning we had to rush to get to Fatehpur Sikri before it closed (we also missed getting to see the Abhaneri Stepwell) * in Delhi the Red Fort & The India Gate were closed due to the annual Jan 26th Republic Celebration (if we had known about this celebration/closure in advance we might have chosen different dates) Our driver was very accommodating and the guides in each city were knowledgeable and very helpful often answering our questions so thoroughly we could hardly absorb the details. Overall the tour was great and with a few minor changes it could be spectacular. NOTE: we opted for a leopard safari and cooking class in Jaipur (leopard safari was early in the morning and had same results as early tiger safari), cooking class was a very quick demo of a couple of dishes (enjoyed meeting the family and lighting the paper lantern on the roof top, but no chance to actually cook)Show more
