  Overall, the trip was good. However, there were a couple issues beginning with the airport pickup. We expected to meet our pickup person after we passed thru customs into the terminal. No one was there & after about 45 minutes a tour company rep showed up & informed us he was looking for us at the visa/passport section. We saw 2 tour reps with name signs, but not this tour rep. This area was not crowded & there were few Westerners. We should have been easy to spot. The tour rep thought we were driving to Petra that evening & we had to inform him we had the 1st night in Amman. The Amman hotel (nights 1&3) was a good hotel, with helpful staff, but not near any restaurants. On day 2, our itinerary showed a lunch was to be provided in Petra. Our driver was not aware of this. We arrived in Petra around noon, were handed off to a guide & had lunch at our expense, 3 hours later - after the guide's tour. The driver contacted their office that evening & we were compensated with lunch on day 3. This is not really a guided tour, but a driver assigned to shephard us to & from Petra. The driver was not a guide & provided virtually no guide information.Show more

  I booked a three day tour to Petra and almost everything went wrong. I thought I was to be picked up at the airport....
  I booked a three day tour to Petra and almost everything went wrong. I thought I was to be picked up at the airport. I realize now that was my mistake, but when I enquired the day before, I received a message that I would be picked up, which was their mistake, but it was never acknowledged. I was left waiting for a ride that had never been booked. Like the other tour I booked through tourradar, I was hoping to have the company of other travellers. Instead, I ended up with what is essentially a private tour. There was me and the driver for a three hour drive to Petra, an extremely environmentally inefficient way to travel. The hotel had problems — tired looking breakfast buffet, poor water pressure, wake up calls promised and not made — and the tour itself was also mismanaged. It was to start at 11 and include lunch. I was eventually picked up at 1:00, and lunch was at 4:30. The tour guide had a lot of people to manage and did so fairly well. His commentary was knowledgeable. However, I resented the fact that I had no chance to eat anything betw breakfast and ‘lunch’. I paid a lot for this tour. I think that if I had just organized my own transport and guide, I would have paid less and got more out of it. I would like to stress that all the people I encountered were trying to do a good job, but I suspect a lot of these tours are essentially a sales job for a private tour which means most people are not getting what they think they are paying for. I can’t recommend Booking Tours based on my experience.Show more

As per your itinerary this tour includes only 1 transfer at arrival and since a pre-tour night accommodation was added, we arranged your transfer from your hotel in Amman hotel to Petra. We have reacted to this matter fast and communicated with you accordingly. 2. The description of the tour specifies but does not guarantee that the maximum number of participants taking the tour is 50, please note that your booking was made for 1 traveler only and there were no other travelers who booked your tour for that particular day, therefore you did the journey in a "private" style. 3. We can not be held responsible for operational issues with the hotels, however, we are always ready to assist our travelers with any unforeseen potential challenges but we didn’t receive any communications from you about problems with the hotel during your stay. 4. All our travelers can contact our offices or our representatives immediately (as we provide all necessary contact numbers) if support is needed. It is the first time that we were made aware of your note regarding your tour pickup and we are certainly investigating your comment. 5. All guides are licensed and have a great deal of knowledge, we are glad that you were satisfied with your guide as his ability to run the tour. 6. Please note that as per your tour's itinerary there are no meals offered in between breakfast and lunch. 7. Our tours are very popular and offered for very competitive rates and it is a personal choice to have it arranged personally or not. 8. We are happy to hear that you experienced the good wilingness and efforts of our teams, we take pride in delivering great experiences. 9. Please note that private tours are actually provided for a higher cost than group tours therefore there is no advantage in any types of "sales jobs" misleading travelers – a practice that we do not exercise. Afterall, we all hope that you enjoyed Petra, one of the 7 wonders of the world and we will be looking forward in organizing new experiences to you and your friends in the future. Booking Tours Team
