  This was a mixed bag, I thought I would be joining with other tourists and had not realized that I would be alone with a driver and each day a different tour guide. It was a lonely experience. Several hotels were quite nice and one as filthy and run down and I had to spend two nights there! I kept the light on for fear of roaches or spiders.Show more

  Dear Lori, we are really sorry to hear about your disappointment that you were unhappy to travel alone. We had got some bookings on the same dates as you had chosen, however all of them opted for a private tour as it gives them flexibility to customize their tour as per their preferences. Since it is a guaranteed departure, it had to operate. Also the inconvenience caused for the hotel is deeply regretted. On your request, we had talked to the manager changed your hotel room to a better one. We also tried to look for other hotels, however due to peak season, we did not find availability in any hotel. Throughout the trip, our customer service executive was in touch with you whenever you had any concern. Our objective is to ensure that our guests go back with happy memories and only then it makes our efforts worthwhile. Please be assured that for any future trip of yours/ family/ friends, we will make sure that we take care of all the points and give them a great experience. Regards GeTS Team

  The tour itself was nice. The driver was good, hotels were good, some guides were better than others. However, the GeTS Holidays company demanded an extra $350 8 days before the tour started, despite having sent an initial confirmation that we had already paid in full. After much hassle, we did pay some extra money, but not $350. They blamed us for their extra costs because they claimed we booked last minute, we booked and paid 17 days in advance. Then they lied about 3 star hotels not being available for 2 nights of the tour, so we had to pay for a 4 star. I looked, and there were 3 star hotels available in same area, and even the website of the hotel they put us in, said it is 3 star. This "group tour" wound up being just the two of us. Before booking, the site said there were only 3 seats left out of a maximum 10. The driver appeared to be sleeping in the car each night. He was nice, but communication was difficult. The company called us a few times to ask how the tour was going. And overall it was good, but management was poor and we didn't get the group tour we planned on. Show more

On behalf of the whole team, we thank you for your compliments on the services (hotels, guides etc.) It is a matter of grave concern for us to know that your experience with us was anything less than satisfactory.  While we regret the inconvenience you have experienced, may we assure you that we have investigated the causes. We would additionally request you to treat this as an isolated incident and not a reflection of our normal services. You came during peak season (20th Dec – 05th Jan) during which the cost of the package is always on the higher side, yes it was a mistake of our backend team that we did not put the correct amount for the peak season and when we were about to start the booking, we found out that to operate your file, we have to put money from our pocket, which is why we requested you and explained our problem. Nowhere it was written that the mandatory gala dinner was included in the programme but you wanted us to find a hotel where new year gala dinner is not mandatory, as a matter of fact even 03 star hotels in Tamil Nadu and Kerala Sector charge mandatory Christmas and New Year Suppliment. We had 07 people confirmed for your departure, but they were from the same family, for more comfort, they requested us if we could upgrade them to a private trip and we adhered to their request, however this change was not updated by our backend team back then. Regarding the drivers, we have tied up with best transporters who hire experienced drivers and they pay them handsomely + they also get tips from the guests directly. About sleeping in the vehicle which they do not do actually, some of the drivers showcase this kind of things so that the guests will have more empathy of their financial condition and will reward them handsomely with decent tips. (This we do not have control over, but we can lodge a complaint to our transporter) But at the same time, if you feel he is not driving carefully., if he is is sleepy at times, if he is not wearing uniform or not giving you mineral water per day and not following the itinerary, please let us know quickly so that we take care of the same immediately (In your case, you find the driver really good as per your above review) It is our constant endeavor to provide you with high standards of personalized service and efficiency.  We have learnt a lot from this particular incident and have taken appropriate measures so that this type of inconveniences are avoided much to the dissatisfaction of our guests.  We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you again, when we can demonstrate to you how your feedback has resulted in immediate correction and re-establish our credibility with you.
