Can you please advise if gluten free food is easily available on this tour. I have coeliac disease so gluten free eating is a necessity rather than a preference.

Gluten-free food is generally available on our Turkey tours, as many traditional Turkish dishes are naturally gluten-free (such as grilled meats, rice dishes, salads, vegetables, and fish). However, bread and wheat products are common in Turkish cuisine, so clear communication and advance planning are essential. While every effort will be made to accommodate you, please note that there may still be a risk of cross-contamination, particularly in smaller hotels or rural areas. We will pass your strict gluten-free/coeliac requirement to the tour operator, hotels, and restaurants, but this must be noted at the time of booking. In addition, as part of our Important Passenger Information, you will be able to tick/mark that you are gluten-free, which helps ensure this requirement is clearly documented and shared. We also recommend carrying a gluten-free/coeliac dietary card translated into Turkish, which can be very helpful when communicating directly with kitchen staff.

Do you have accomodations for people with certain moving disabilities? We are a couple of senior citizens, and I move with a cane or with a moving equipment (not a wheelchair).

Expat Explore tries to be as accommodating as possible, however, our tours are unfortunately not designed for people travelling with wheelchairs or severe mobility issues. Our tours are fast paced because they are designed for you to see the most a destination has to offer. We also want to ensure that you explore as much as possible, which may require long periods without stops on the coach as we drive to new destination. We offer walking tours in most cities (up to 3 hours), and a wheelchair is not always a practical option as there are often cobbled streets and stairs on these tours.

Is there a list of Optional Tours that can be pre booked and paid for prior to the start of the tour?

All optional excursions are bookable on tour, with your tour leader. Optional Tours include: Istanbul+ for €150, Whirling Dervish Show for €25, Cleopatra's Pool for €7, Traditional Turkish Folklore Evening for €65.

Are international flights included in the tour price?

Whilst internal flights are covered for certain itineraries, you will have to make your way to the meeting point for the start of your tour. When booking flights be mindful of departure times and possible delays. Tip: We suggest that you start comparing prices the moment your deposit is paid to avoid costly flights.

Are young children allowed?

We have a set minimum age of 10 for our tours, but we're happy to consider younger children on a case-by-case basis. Just let us know your request, and we'll do our best to accommodate it. Expat Explore reserves the right to accept or decline the request at our discretion. We want to ensure everyone has a great time exploring with us!

Can you cater for my dietary requirements?

We make every effort to include local cuisine on our tours to ensure an authentic experience for you. You'll receive an email before the tour begins, where we'll ask for your dietary preferences. We always have a vegetarian option, and we'll work hard to accommodate any other dietary needs or preferences you may have.

Do I need to exchange cash before I leave?

Contactless payment is widely accepted across Europe – it’s best to bring a payment card with no overseas withdrawal fees. * Keep in mind that certain optionals are payable in cash to your tour leader whilst on tour. We suggest that you talk to your Tour Leader about when & where to draw cash to pay for the optional excursions.

If I wish to stay longer in the start or end destination, will Expat Explore assist with pre/post-tour accommodation?

While Expat Explore cannot assist with booking pre or post-tour accommodation, we recommend Booking.com for affordable accommodation options prior to and after the tour. If hotel information is available, we can provide you with the details in advance so that you can book accommodation at or nearby the start hotel. Please request this by sending a message through on the conversation page.

Can Expat Explore issue me with a visa?

While Expat Explore endeavours to stay current on all major entry requirements, we are not a registered visa agent. We are, however, able to make things a little easier by providing you with the required supporting documents for a visa application once your tour is paid in full. It is a requirement of the embassies that tours are paid for in full before visa support documentation is requested and applications are made. When you have made the final payment for your booking, simply reach out to our Customer Support Team to request your visa support documents and confirm which embassy you will be applying to.

How much spending money do I need for my holiday?

This is up to you and will vary depending on how much you wish to spend on snacks, drinks, souvenirs etc. We do not include entrance fees to attractions and museums. We do, however, provide you with free time to see everything you want, and our tour leaders will have all the information on pricing and locations so you can manage your own budget. Our very knowledgeable tour guide Ege ensured we all left the tour with a great insight into Turkish history, culture and cuisine. Each day we travelled safely and in comfort thanks to the experienced and friendly driver. The accomodation varied from 5 star to 3 star, but all were very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this trip but just be warned, Turkey is not a cheap place to visit, prices were much higher than any of us had expected.Show more

I have used Tour radar before but My experience with this trip has been chaotic from day 1. I joined this trip as a solo traveller and flew from UAE on my own. When I left the country, I was told that I would be picked up at the airport. I was waiting for over two hours until they apologised and to ask me to get on a taxi and find my way back to the hotel. They did not even reimburse me for the trip. The tour guide was not told I was part of the trip on the first day. There was a lot of confusion. I wasn't provided with the details of the tours in advance. The hotel they chose was a dark dinghy hotel with phone and AC not working. We had to change our room three times. Even when you enter the foyer it looks like you are entering a haunted mansion, it looked that spooky. All my enquiries went unanswered on weekends even after multiple requests. It's like if you are stranded on your own, you are on your own. And when the answer, they say they will get back and they don't. The major failure to provide minimum customer service comes from Expat tours, not from Fez tours who made the tour memorable. My suggestion is that if you are interested in doing this trip, book directly with Fez travels not with Expat tours.Show more

Guide spoke knowledgeably in detail at each location without referring to notes. That was seriously impressive and showed a passion that is difficult to replicate.
