Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! We're really glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and found the locations memorable and worthwhile. We’re sorry the age demographic wasn’t clearly communicated. If you join us on another trip in the future, feel free to get in touch to enquire about this and we can provide you with a rough demographic to help you find a group of you might feel more in touch with. We look forward to having you with us again.

  • R

    Ron

    Asked on March 24th, 2026

Do you offer any active tours for an "older" adult? Your page indicates age range up to 45. I am 67 and extremely fit. Would love to do a tour of SE Asia with all four countries that includes biking, hiking and kayaking, similar to your 31-day SE Asia adventure tour. I'm also interested in any dates between Nov and Jan.

    Age Range
    Tour Details
    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten March 2026

While we appreciate you're extremely fit, the recommended age range is mainly in place for the overall group dynamic. The majority of guests that join this trip are aged 18-25 and expect to be joining a group with an age demographic roughly within this bracket. I'm afraid we don't have any other trips we can recommend you for Southeast Asia, however, we have trips in China, South Korea and Japan that can accommodate your demographic.

  • P

    Pat

    Asked on December 23rd, 2025

Has anyone already signed up for the trip beginning on 26/01/26? If so, do you have an idea of the current age range and gender split? What time is the Day 1 welcome meeting on 26th January, and is there a latest recommended arrival time into Bangkok? Do you recommend arriving the day before to make sure nothing is missed? Is it a massive issue if say my flight were to arrive late evening say on the 26th? Is airport pickup available on arrival in Bangkok through you guys? Is this something that's included in the tour cost, is it an additional fee or do we need to organise airport pick up ourselves? What is the typical dorm size in the hostels that you organise and are the hostels usually mixed-gender or single-sex dorms? Will we always be in rooms with members of our tour group? How often are private room upgrades available and is this something that can be sorted on arrival to hostels depending on their availability if I wanted my own space for the night? Are optional, additional activities paid in cash or card, and would this typically be in local currency? If so, are there ATM's that you can take us to if we needed cash? Do you provide a pre-departure info pack with visa guidance and packing lists for example to help us prepare?

We currently have 18 people booked onto this departure date, with a varying age range of between 18 and 32, with an approximate gender split of 30% male and 70% female. The welcome meeting on day 1 will be at 17:00, so we recommend arriving at the hostel around early afternoon. If you'd like to spend a little extra time to settle in and see more of Bangkok then by all means you are welcome to arrive a day earlier. Yes, we can arrange an arrival transfer from the airport, this isn't included in the tour price, but we can book this for an additional £35. Dorm room sizes and gender separation vary, meaning we can't guarantee arrangements, though we'll always do our best to keep your tour group together. Private upgrades are available to book prior to departure, but this is booked for the entirety of the trip. Most activities in South East Asia will need to be paid with in local currency and in cash, there will be plenty of opportunities to visit atm's throughout the tour. Yes, we send out pre-departure packs for all of our tours. Regarding visas, we include a document in our booking confirmations with general guidance, but we always recommend staying up to date and checking with the relevant embassy.

For the 31-day itinerary, is the core group generally together for the full duration, or do some travellers join or leave at different points if they're doing shorter sections of the trip for example? Similarly, will the same Adventure Leader stay with the group for the full 31 days, or do leaders change by country/section? Is there a rough latest point at which bookings usually close for the 26 Jan–25 Feb departure? At land borders, does the Adventure Leader assist with the visa-on-arrival process and paperwork, or is it entirely independent? Are we all helped through and as a group as it were?

Do you have any other similar tour for 50+ demographic's?

    • The Dragon TripOperatorWritten December 2025

We don't have any other trips for Southeast Asia for a solo traveller who's 50+. We have lots of trips in other destinations for solo travellers for guests aged 50+. Our more popular destinations are China, Japan and South Korea.

We do not include the international flights to/from Southeast Asia, so you would need to book these yourself. We are happy to advise you on the best times to arrive/depart. Some meals are included in this trip! Meals provided: 20 breakfasts, 6 lunches, & 3 dinners (all other food and drink throughout the tour is not included) February is a great time to travel in Southeast Asia, as it is the dry season. You can expect great weather throughout the tour.

The standard accommodation for this trip is shared dorm rooms in hostels with the option to upgrade to a private room within the hostels. The private room upgrade isn't available during the stay at the guesthouse in Chiang Mai, the overnight boat cruise in Ha Long Bay and during the camping on Koh Rong Samloem. We can book your clients additional nights for before and after the trip.
