I am interested in this tour, however I am 66 years old. I understand that there is an age limit, but I was wondering if you made any exceptions. I am traveling alone and find this tour to be perfect for what I am seeking. My health condition is great if that is an issue activity wise.

Why is the oldest age 45?

The age limit is in place because of the overall style, pace, accommodation, and group dynamic of the tour, and we aim to keep the experience consistent for everyone travelling. The 31-day Southeast Asia Tour includes shared dorm rooms in hostels and guesthouses, in addition to overnight trains and buses. The overall pace of the tour is moderate-high intensity, with travellers walking up to 20,000 steps per day. Although this tour is available to travellers aged 18–45, we generally find that most participants are in their 20s. The trip tends to attract those looking for a more social and fast-paced experience, which may not appeal to everyone.

My husband and I were thinking about this tour for next year, but our daughter mentioned wanting to do just the Vietnam portion of it with us. Is there a way to price that part out and have them join us for that arm of the trip?

We could definitely set a price for your daughter to join only for the Vietnam section. I wanted to double check a few things with you before you decide to join this trip. Are you aware this trip is for guests aged 18-45 and uses multi-bed dorm rooms in hostels as the standard accommodation? If this isn't the type of trip you're looking for, we do have other options available for Southeast Asia that use hotel rooms instead.

Is there an age range requirement for this tour? I'm around 65 years old and would like to know if I'd be able to join.

I'm afraid we can't be flexible with the age range on this trip. Although the suggested age range is 18-45, the majority of guests that join this trip are aged 18-25 and the guests expect to join a trip with a younger age demographic. We don't have any trips available in Southeast Asia for your age demographic, but we do have some in China, Japan and South Korea if any of these destinations might interest you.

how much to upgrade for another room not a hostel

It's possible to upgrade to a private room within the hostels at all locations excluding 1 night during homestay in Chiang Mai on day 3, for 2 nights in Luang Prabang on day 7 and 8, and 1 night during the Halong Bay cruise on day 14.

I am over 60 years old and in good health, would it be okay to join the trip though you have 45 years limit. Does your tour many hiking or looong walk, why is this age limit?

Do you offer any active tours for an "older" adult? Your page indicates age range up to 45. I am 67 and extremely fit. Would love to do a tour of SE Asia with all four countries that includes biking, hiking and kayaking, similar to your 31-day SE Asia adventure tour. I'm also interested in any dates between Nov and Jan.

While we appreciate you're extremely fit, the recommended age range is mainly in place for the overall group dynamic. The majority of guests that join this trip are aged 18-25 and expect to be joining a group with an age demographic roughly within this bracket. I'm afraid we don't have any other trips we can recommend you for Southeast Asia, however, we have trips in China, South Korea and Japan that can accommodate your demographic.

Can we have a French-speaking guide?

All of our trips are operated in English. We don't have French speaking guides for our trips. We have other dates available for this trip.

Each of the tour guides was friendly, knowledgeable, and highly experienced in their country, which really helped us get the most out of every destination. They were always happy to offer recommendations for things to do in our free time, as well as local restaurants and places to experience authentic food. The activities throughout the tour were incredible and carefully chosen to give us the opportunity to experience each country to the fullest. We were able to learn so much about the history, culture, and traditions of the different countries while also having plenty of exciting and memorable experiences. Overall, this truly was an experience of a lifetime. From the amazing places we visited to the incredible people we met along the way, every part of the trip made it special. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see and experience multiple countries in a relatively short amount of time. I am interested in this tour, however I am 66 years old. I understand that there is an age limit, but I was wondering if you made any exceptions. I am traveling alone and find this tour to be perfect for what I am seeking. My health condition is great if that is an issue activity wise.

  The age limit is in place because of the overall style, pace, accommodation, and group dynamic of the tour, and we aim to keep the experience consistent for everyone travelling.
  
  The 31-day Southeast Asia Tour includes shared dorm rooms in hostels and guesthouses, in addition to overnight trains and buses. The overall pace of the tour is moderate-high intensity, with travellers walking up to 20,000 steps per day.
  
  Although this tour is available to travellers aged 18–45, we generally find that most participants are in their 20s. The trip tends to attract those looking for a more social and fast-paced experience, which may not appeal to everyone.

My husband and I were thinking about this tour for next year, but our daughter mentioned wanting to do just the Vietnam portion of it with us. Is there a way to price that part out and have them join us for that arm of the trip?

  So we are definitely looking at Vietnam for next summer and the kids (20 and 21) plus boyfriends are not going to book for a while if they do decide to come. We would rather not shared accommodations. I didn't realize the hostels until I was showing my husband. We have no problem with cheaper accommodations. I just think we might be too old for the other. Once we figure out our trip, can the girls (singlular or plural) decide later which part they would want to join for.

Although the suggested age range is 18-45, the majority of guests that join this trip are aged 18-25 and the guests expect to join a trip with a younger age demographic. We don't have any trips available in Southeast Asia for your age demographic, but we do have some in China, Japan and South Korea if any of these destinations might interest you.

Do you offer any active tours for an "older" adult? Your page indicates age range up to 45. I am 67 and extremely fit. Would love to do a tour of SE Asia with all four countries that includes biking, hiking and kayaking, similar to your 31-day SE Asia adventure tour. I'm also interested in any dates between Nov and Jan.

The majority of guests that join this trip are aged 18-25 and expect to be joining a group with an age demographic roughly within this bracket. I'm afraid we don't have any other trips we can recommend you for Southeast Asia, however, we have trips in China, South Korea and Japan that can accommodate your demographic.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before November 27th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after November 27th, 2026, a minimum payment of 5% is required to confirm your booking with The Dragon Trip. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 75 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and The Dragon Trip will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
