In Mongolia, you will stay in hotels in the cities (mostly with private bathrooms) and in ger camps in rural areas, where bathroom facilities are shared. For transportation, the tour uses a mix of trains, private vehicles, and the metro. You will also travel on the Trans-Mongolian Railway from China to Mongolia, crossing the border by train.

The tour planning and execution went without problems, and due to the tour guides' (one for China and one for Mongolia) knowledge and experience, we were also able to see sites not specified on the itinerary.   Couple months ago I had a detailed discussion with a colleague of yours, I believe her name was Jacky, about why many of my fellow travelers on the various tours I've taken with Intrepid paid different prices. On the last tour to Madagascar, my fellow travelers paid between 800 and 1000 US dollars less than I did. Now I see TourRadar's price at € 4240 which equals US $ 4885 at current exchange rate. Intrepid charges US $ 5990 for the exact same trip. US $ 1105 difference. Can you explain please?

  Each region has different currency negotiations when it comes to how we price our tours. You are welcome to book in any currency you would like if you feel you will get a better rate in a different currency. Please keep in mind however, if you need to cancel and a deposit stays on file. It will be in the currency you book in and cannot be converted into another currency at the time of re booking. Our currency conversion rates are determined by many factors such as supply and demand, economic policies, geopolitical events, and more. These rates are constantly fluctuating and as a company that operate in multiple currencies we often have to deal with the risk of currency fluctuations impacting our profitability. To reduce risk we set prices in a specific currency and maintain those prices even if the exchange rates change. This allows us to provide a consistent pricing structure to our customers regardless of where they are located and the current exchange rates.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before November 19th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after November 19th, 2026, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with Intrepid Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Intrepid Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
