Asked on May 20th, 2026Can you provide samples of the hotels you use on this trip and what star grade are they? Will they be central when staying in cities and towns? Also are there accommodation upgrades available? I notice the salt flats part of the tour indicates dorm style rooms, would prefer our own room if possible.
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written May 2026For our Basix itineraries like this one, you'll have simple, clean and centrally located accommodation with a 2-to-2.5-star average rating. There are no room upgrades for this trip. Our regular single supplement excludes Days 2, 20 (Overnight bus), Days 7, 8 (Dormitory) and Days 17, 18, 19 (Estancia) where solo travellers get put in shared accommodation. However, for those nights it still may be rooms of two so you should be able to share as a couple.

We can keep you together in your own Double Matrimonial room. We will add a note to the booking so the local team can take this into account and ensure you are not separated during the trip, including at Estancia Copihue, where passengers are usually divided by gender.
