  Which castles does this tour actually stop at to see (inside)? Is there any room sharing option for a solo traveler, as other companies do?

    The only castles you go inside is Eilean Donan Castle. There's no room sharing option for a solo traveler so you'd have your own private room for the tour.

  Could you confirm where the 3 nights en-suite accommodation with breakfast (Guesthouse/B&B accommodation) will be located in relation to distance from pubs and restaurants.

    We can't say specifically how far it'll be as we work with multiple suppliers however what we can say is that all of our accommodation is booked within 2km of the town centre so it will be relatively central.

    Yes, local amenities should be within a 20-30-minute walk from your lodging, regardless which of our providers we book you at.

    The areas you will be exploring and staying at are quite remote, so no Uber services or centralised taxi services will be available. You can pre-book with local providers ahead of time, though (recommend if you are travelling in high season, between May and September). We will be happy to provide a few examples at each overnight location.

    we are traveling for 11 days and need a suitcase with enough clothing and medical supplies along with carry on for each of us - is this permitted on the tour bus?

    There is limited space on our mini-coaches so luggage is restricted. Each passenger is entitled to one 20kg bag, plus one small bag for personal items. Your main luggage must not exceed 55cm x 45cm x 25cm/22in x 17in x 10in in size or 20kg (44lbs) in weight. Please ensure you can lift and carry your own luggage without assistance.

    This tour spends the first night in Fort William, so if you wanted to begin the tour there, you would miss the first day and join the tour on the morning of day 2. Please note we wouldn't be able to alter the tour price should you choose to do this. We have not yet published our tour programme and prices past the end of March 2026. We are hoping to get this sorted in the next few weeks, so please check back with us around then for more information.

  Are there opportunities to explore or walk locations during 4 and 5 day tours? We want to get away from crowds and do more than quick photo opportunities.

    Itineraries include a mix of shorter rest stops and longer lunch and walking breaks. Major attractions get at least an hour for exploration. Stops can be flexible based on group preferences and weather. For fewer crowds, recommend booking in October and later.

    The bus normally stops around every hour or so, some of these stops will be very brief, just allowing time for a quick photo or to use bathroom facilities. Other stops will be longer, giving you time to explore and stretch your legs. There is a lunch stop on each day where you normally have between 1-2 hours free time to explore and get yourself some food. Passengers have until 21 days before the tour departure to cancel and get a full refund. If the tour is cancelled less than 21 days before departure, we won't be able to refund their booking.

    Smoking is generally not permitted on the bus or in accommodation rooms; however, there are brief stops where individuals may smoke away from the group.

    This tour departs from Edinburgh, so this would be the location that you would need to fly into. We recommend maybe arriving the night before the tour so you can get to the departure point easily and stress-free the next morning. We are able to book the accommodation for you during the tour, but any accommodation before or after, as well as flights and other transport services will need to be booked by you.

  I intend to book your 4-day Isle of Skye & Highlands sm Group tour commencing Friday 16/5/2025, but no-where do I see the departure time leaving Edinburgh - Fort William. Also, how long is the driving traveling time each day? I am 80 and well traveled, but it is a concern before I book.

    This tour departs from the Edinburgh Bus Station at 9:30am. You will spend the first night in Fort William, arriving at your accommodation at around 6pm. The bis will stop every hour or so throughout the day, giving you time to explore at your own pqace. Some stops wilkl be very brief, just to get off the bus and stretch your legs or use the bathroom facilities, and others will be longer, like a lunch stop and stops in towns to explore.
