Where is the pick up point in Edinburgh and what are the luggage size limitations

    Flights / Transfers
    Transport
    • Rabbie's ToursOperatorWritten December 2025

Our Edinburgh departure point is from Gate J & K, inside Edinburgh Bus Station, St Andrew Square, Edinburgh, EH1 3DQ.

Each passenger is entitled to one 20kg bag, plus one small bag for personal items:
      - Your main luggage must not exceed 55cm x 45cm x 25cm (22in x 17in x 10in) in size or 20kg (44lbs) in weight. This should be one piece of luggage similar to an airline cabin bag.
      - A small bag for personal items such as a handbag, purse or small backpack.

Please ensure you can lift and carry your own luggage without assistance. Unfortunately we're not able to accommodate larger or heavier bags, please ensure you pack accordingly or store excess baggage prior to departure.

When travelling with another person, if you want to combine your luggage into one larger, heavier bag, you are welcome to do that. However, it must not exceed the total weight per person combined (40kg/88lbs for two people), and you need to be able to lift this bag in and out of the boot of our mini-coach on your own.

I just wanted to clarify your cancellation policy cutoff timing. So for the Isle if Skye tour, if I cancel prior to 21 days before the departure date, I would get 100% refund minus a cancellation fee, and any time beyond 21 days before departure 0% refund.

    • Rabbie's ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

if you cancel more than 21 days before departure, you will be entitled to a full refund. Cancellation 21 days or less before departure, and we unfortunately cannot offer a refund.

When I signed up for my tour a few days ago, I selected to get cancellation insurance which had a cost of around $75. I got a message back from your team saying that the insurance request did not go through and to try again. When I tried again, it sent me to a link that told me it would be $131. Was that for a different insurance policy?

    Asked on November 30th, 2025

How do we request a ground level room when booking. We will have 2 suitcases in total for 2 people as travelling from Australia & 1 suitcase is 76x50x25 cm & the other suitcase is slightly smaller & both 20kg or slightly under, is this allowed on these tours

    Accommodation
    Transport
    • Rabbie's ToursOperatorWritten December 2025

You should be able to leave a message with us to request group level rooms through Tourradar, but if there are any problems with that then you can contact us directly. As we use pretty small 16 seater buses, we are limited as to how large baggage can be. We therefore require suitcases to be no larger than 55.8 cm x 43.18 cm x 25.4 cm per person, and no heavier than 20kg. If you think this would be a problem, then it is worth looking in to luggage storage facilities.

We would not be able to confirm this room allocation (family room) on those dates. We can book 2 rooms in one property on the dates required, or alternativately, book a family room on the same tour but departing either on the 5th of April (subject to availability or the 7th).

All our tours take up to 16 people, as we use a 16-seater Mercedes mini-bus. Accommodation will be booked when the tour is booked, therefore, I am unable to provide with an exact at this time. Can you recommend what to pack for the tour?

There is sometimes the opportunity to walk or hike, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Since the weather can be changeable, consider bringing a rain jacket and warm weather gear.

    Asked on January 7th, 2025

Interested in 3day Edinburgh/Skye/Edinburgh tour, latter part of January, are you able to provide more info on B&B accommodation on Portree, I will be travelling with 83 yr old aunt, I'm not sure about the getting to and fro from accommodation to evening meal walking 30mins in potentially bad weather?? No idea if there are taxis on Skye?

    • Rabbie's ToursOperatorWritten January 2025

we are happy to help with any special requirements you might have - though, for last-minute bookings there might be limited options left among our providers. If you require a very central location due to mobility issues, we will do our best to accommodate that request, though, and book your travel party with the most central provider available at the time.

do you collect and drop off from their accommodation again on day two, and collect from accommodation on day three, ie the morning of departure back to Edinburgh? Are there toilets on board the minibus? I see that the return journey to Edinburgh passes by House of Bruar, just off A9, near Baluain, does it stop there?

    • Rabbie's ToursOperatorWritten January 2025

Yes you will be picked up and dropped off at your accommodation on each day of the tour. You will be staying in the town of Portree on Skye, which is very small so everything is very close together. There are no toilets on our buses, but we make regular comfort stops every hour or so so you can use bathroom facilities and get some time off the bus! The tour route will go past House of Bruar, but there is no stop there as part of the official itinerary. It is unlikely we will be able to arrange a stop there as it would take time and delay our return to Edinburgh.

    Asked on November 23rd, 2024

Wondering if there may be flexibility to do a hike to the Storr on one of the days? Or any hiking options?

    Tour Details
    • Rabbie's ToursOperatorWritten November 2024

For that reason, you will not have multiple days to explore the island. The itinerary on the full day on the isle is quite flexible - dependant on the weather and road conditions on the day, both of which tend to be quite unpredictable on Skye. We try to cover most of the iconic stops, though, and the driver-guide will check with the group at the beginning of the tour which stops are the most requested among passengers. If you do get to the Old Man of Storr on your trip and would like to go for a hike, you might have to leave the tour early - there is a local bus you could take to return to the overnight location, but our bus might not be able to wait.
