We are in UK/Scotland in 2026 for tours and places to visit. We finish our first tour on the 24th August 2026, where we intend to travel to Widnes for family leaving Widnes on the 27th August. We will be travelling to Edinburgh, where we will be staying for approximately 6 days. While there we would like to fit in the 3 day trip from Edinburgh to the Lake District. Do you have any trips that would start from the 28th August? We need to leave Edinburgh on the 2nd September It would be for 3 adult ladies - sisters!

We have a departure for the 3-day lake District tour on 24th August next year, but not on 28th. Does this dat work for you? If not we have plenty of Scottish tours going from Edinburgh on 28th, my personal recommendation would be our trips to Skye or the Outer Hebrides. Alternatively, you have the option of booking a private tur with us, where departure dates and tour itineraries are more flexible.

Do you have availability those dates?

Our 3-day Lake District tour from Edinburgh only runs from April until the end of October, so there are no departures for this tour in November. Additionally, all of our tours would start and end in the same place, so we would be unable to start in Edinburgh and end in Windermere.

What are the check-in times for the tour?

Check-in closes at 08:30 AM, and the tour departs at 08:45 AM from the designated departure point.

We are 2 seniors interested in the 3 day Lake Dist tour from Edinburgh. We want to know if we can be dropped off at Penrith Railway Station to catch the Avanti train. What will the trip cost in August with 2 single rooms?

You are not able to be dropped off at Penrith train station on the final day since the tour route does not pass through. One option is to stay in Keswick and catch a train towards London from there. The cost of this tour in August would be £521.25 per person for the Single B&B option, so £1042.50 in total. We won't be able to alter the tour price if you decide to leave early.

The tour departs from Gates J & K at the Edinburgh Bus Station, St Andrew Square, EH1 3DQ.

Can I join the tour in Manchester instead of Edinburgh?

You can start the Lake District Explorer tour from Manchester. Please ensure your booking reflects the correct departure point.

What items are recommended to bring for the tour?

It's recommended to bring weather-appropriate clothing and essentials for three days as luggage space is limited.

Do I need a physical ticket for the tour?

No physical ticket is needed. Your booking confirmation details are sufficient for check-in.

What safety measures are in place on the tour?

We adhere to legal requirements for luggage weight and vehicle safety to ensure a safe experience for all passengers.

Is your tour handicapped accessible? As in wheelchair?

I am afraid our vehicles are not wheelchair accessible. Entry and exit from the mini-coaches is via the front left passenger door. There are three steps up into the coach - each 150mm in height. There are grab handles on both sides, the step edges are clearly marked and the treads are non-slip. Our buses are not wheelchair accessible, however we have large luggage compartments which may easily take a folding wheelchair or walking frame. Our staff are not able to offer physical assistance when boarding or disembarking from the buses or at any point during the tour. Guests should be comfortable getting on and off the bus on their own or with the assistance of a travelling companion.

The itinerary, the stops, onboard narration, accommodation and overall quality of the tour was truly exceptional. Rabbie's Tours did not disappoint from start to finish. We met their team at Edinburgh Bus Station and they made us welcome and clearly explained who our driver would be and when and where to expect them. Right on time, Bruce arrived, helped us load up and got us underway for our trip to Keswick. Rabbie's uses Mercedes mini-coaches that seat 16. On a previous tour we found the double seats on the right a bit cramped so this time made a beeline to the back row of three seats that offered a more comfortable ride. The tour was delightful, Bruce kept us informed and entertained pretty well every mile of the trip. His knowledge and sense of humour were a welcome addition on the ride. The small coaches allowed him to take us on some narrow tracks and he used his experience to alter the route when weather threatened. There were frequent stops whether for short hikes, seeing sights, or just a leg stretch, with our driver always pointing out where to find a toilet as well as offering meal suggestions at lunch and dinner time.Show more
