would it be possible to join this tour from day 4 at Ninh Binh? I visited Hanoi and Ha Long Bay on a previous tour last year and would prefer to visit Ho Chi Minh City instead of Hanoi. Ideally, I'd like to visit the following places: Ho Chi Minh City, Ninh Binh, Hoi An. Do you have any tours covering the above that are available between available to travel between 1-12 September? Or failing that, is it possible to mix part of one tour with another? Or get advice on tailoring certain elements.

We do not offer customised tours, so we wouldn't be able to accommodate that. We could potentially explore the option of you joining from day 4 of the tour, but we would need to check with the local team first, as it may be logistically challenging. Please note that if you were to join for only part of the tour, the price would remain the same, as it is a package priced tour. We have a 12 day Vietnam Intro tour that starts on the 2nd September and finishes in Vietnam on the 13th September, with the possibility of you joining on the 5th September in Ninh Binh. After Ninh Binh, you would travel to Hoi An and then Ho Chi Minh City. Would you like us to look in to this for you?

is there any age restrictions with this tour? I wanted to ask about the single room supplemental...how much would that be?

The majority of people on our tours are aged 18 to 39, but we regularly have people in their 40's+ travel with us and have an incredible time! As long as you have an appetite for adventure and are happy bonding with people of all backgrounds, you'll fit in perfectly! We can certainly look into the possibility of a private room for you. However we do room you with someone of the same gender (excluding multi-share accommodation) and try our best to room you with someone of a similar age. Also Group Members are in their hotel rooms for a very limited time throughout the trip, as there are activities most days and things planned most evenings. Please note, a private room wouldn't be possible on the overnight train.

Are the activities set in the itinerary compulsory or can we choose to do some things and on other days explore on our own?

None of the activities are compulsory if there's anything you don't want to do you won't be forced into doing it

Is it possible for a couple to get double rooms throughout the tour? Is it possible to book 2-person cabins for the night train?

If travelling together as a couple, we will make sure you are in a private room throughout, but we can't upgrade the overnight train which remains a 4-share cabin.

What activities are included in the Hoi An part of the trip?

In Hoi An, included in the trip you will experience the 'Basket Boats', take part in a Vietnamese cooking class, take a boat trip down the river and release lanterns, explore the night markets, take part in a lantern making class and visit An Bang Beach

Can I book an extra night at the last hotel we are staying in on the last day?

The hotel where the group stays at in Hoi An is the Thanh binh 2 Hotel. Your group leader can help book extra accommodation after the tour for you, whilst on the tour if you like

Could you confirm if a return transfer after the tour is included?

A return transfer is not included, however your group leader can help arrange this for you, along with any other onward travel you need

What is the single supplement charge and is there a list of hotels?

Within the tour itself, I particularly enjoyed cycling in Ninh Binh and the day/overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay. Karaoke until the early hours was certainly a welcome surprise. Ha Noi is also a highlight as a must-visit location! Our group had a mix of ages and everyone was keen to meet each other, so if you're a little bit older than the average "gap year" solo traveller amd nwrvous about it, you should just book it and enjoy! Taylor was an excellent tour leader, whose relationship with the locals and guides made our experience above and beyond. She went out of her way to make each member of the group comfortable, at ease and gave us plenty of recommendations from before we even landed to explore in our free time. We had Taylor and Paula as our group leaders and they are just so incredibly bubbly, welcoming, and accommodating to everyone. I have chronic fatigue and I was really worried about doing my first solo group tour, especially in a country I’d never been to, but it was such a great experience and the itinerary was incredibly flexible. I’ve made some really great friends from around the world on this trip and formed some close bonds so I’m very glad I made the decision to tag along.
