  Retired and excited to spend our time traveling. Booked our first ever tour with Trafalgar, through Costco. Expected that it would be the first of very many. I will never consider Trafalgar again. Hideous customer service!!! First our trip was cancelled due to Covid - hey I get it - but no refund, just a voucher. Again, very unusual situation, so cut them some slack. Communication sucked, but rebooked for this year. A month out, Trafalgar emails me that they are cancelling just our trip date - for unexplained reasons. This time instead of a credit they say we can finally get a refund. So generous for this massive corporation that has now had my money for two years. HERE'S the kicker - they expect it to take THREE MONTHS to process my refund. WHAT??? I'm sorry, this is totally unacceptable. Used my money for two years and now need three MORE months to refund it. Oh, and if you want to talk to someone to check on your refund, count on 2 hours on hold. SEE YA. I WILL NEVER CONSIDER THEM FOR FUTURE TRAVEL AND WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW ABOUT THEIR CRAPPY SERVICE.Show more

  To begin, we sincerely regret to learn that your overall experience was anything short of exceptional, given that the complete satisfaction of our guests is an absolute priority. With this in mind, we genuinely regret that we were not able to host you on either of the guided vacations that you had booked with our company, as they were both suspended due to the pandemic. On top of this, we certainly undesrtand the frustration that may have been felt as a result of our cancellation policy and in learning of the wait time for reimbursement. We have shared this feedback with our Reservations Department for their attention and consideration, as indeed, our team will look into making any possible improvements. You have every right to expect the highest level of service from us, as this is something we have always been known for throughout the travel industry. While we note with reluctance that you may not be travelling with us again, we nevertheless wish you all the best in your future vacation endeavors.

  I booked the tour at a time of deep personal loss and grief. I had lost 4 close family members, including my sister. Costa Rica was a far way from home but i really wanted to immerse myself in nature and in a foreign land - and i am so glad that i booked this trip! German, Victor and Fernando were exceptionally kind, exceptionally helpful and so knowledgeable. I emailed German prior to the trip and he was so responsive & from the moment i reached the hotel to begin the trip, he was always so attentive and made the entire trip an experience to remember. The trip itself was an adventure and everything which i required to inject some healing into my broken heart and soul. I learnt so much about the wild life and saw the most beautiful aspects of human life in Costa Rica. German and Victor brought so much of Costa Rica with stories and songs to us daily. I cried when the trip ended but i came home with the most wonderful memories and new friends. Thank you for everything German and Victor and so much love to our driver Fernando.   The whole trip was great. We wanted to experience the real Costa Rica and we did. We experienced the Caribbean side, rainforest, cloud forest , culture and wildlife of the country. Our travel director, well-being guide and bus driver were all great and made the whole trip a wonderful experience.Show more

  Excellent guide and beautiful country. All lodgings were well away from other local places making personal exploring difficult. Lodgings were good otherwise. Group size (43) was much too big. The bus seats were crammed together and on tours if you were at the back you missed most of what was going on.Show more

To begin, we are concerned to hear that you may have found the size of your group to be too large at certain points on this trip. All of our trips and itineraries are designed to comfortably accommodate up to fifty guests at a time, and during peak seasons, we do often operate at full capacity. Nevertheless, we appreciate your concern and have shared this with our Operations Department for their consideration. To continue, we would like to apologize for any discomfort you seem to have experienced whilst on-board the coach; this is something that we will certainly raise with our Transportation Department for their review and to establish what improvements might be made going forward. Furthermore, we regret to read that you did not find the hotels to be conveniently located and we are sorry this had affected your appreciation of the destinations visited. Nonetheless, it's great to read that you enjoyed discovering the beautiful hand-picked destinations on our carefully crafted itinerary, and what's more, it's great to know that it was all in the good company of your dedicated and knowledgeable Travel Director. With that said, we are always striving to make our experiences even better. Therefore, we hope that you will join us again on another of Trafalgar's guided holidays in the future when we can demonstrate all of the new great elements that we have included in our itineraries.
