Itinerary
- Day 1
Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
Your hotel picks you up in the morning, and you'll head west toward Lake Manyara National Park. Before entering the park, you stop at Mto wa Mbu village to get a feel for how people live in northern Tanzania. The culture there is quite different from what you might expect, and it's a good break before the drive continues. Once you're in the park, you'll spend the day looking for wildlife. Tree-climbing lions are a real possibility here, along with elephants, hippos, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffes, and flamingos around the lake. By late afternoon, you'll head back to Arusha.
