Unfortunately there is no way to avoid the single supplement, not even by booking this far in advance unless you went a few different routes. Quark on the UltraMarine ship does have single cabins that are better priced then if you got a cabin that fits two people and paid the single supplement Quark also has a program where you can share a cabin with another person of the same gender which definitely helps lower the cost: Solo travelers who prefer not to pay the single supplement can take advantage of our Request-Share program. If you're a solo traveler, we can match you with another solo traveler of the same gender who's indicated they're willing to share a cabin. Both guests save the single supplement. Should we be unable to find a cabin mate for a Request-Share traveler, the single supplement is waived. It's a risk-free way to save for adventurers who travel alone. Please note as well Quark has some some incredible discounts at the moment you can take advantage of including 20% off as well as an additional 10% off if you pay in full 1 month after booking for select cabin types.

With Covid still infecting people, is there any change to the cancellation policy due to Covid safety? Is alcohol available on the ship (wine or beer). I am mobile but cannot walk long distances (+2-3 km at at time)

Quark Expeditions team sometimes changes their Terms and Conditions depending on the covid-19 situation worldwide. If they consider that it is not safe to travel on a particular departure date, they will offer travellers the alternative to change to another departure date. You can buy alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at the bar onboard the ship. I can see that this particular Expedition trip is strenuous and in some stops there will be a lot of walking included. I can definitely reach out to Quark Expeditions team and ask them what level of physical activity exactly this trip involves.

Quark was amazing! Almost every aspect of the Quark team was spectacular. The post disembarkation needs some work with better coordination at the Nuuk airport & the final night’s included hotel stay. Working with TourRadar was the worst international experience I’ve ever had. The lack of timely communication, the seeming lying by omission or avoidance made for a rough beginning to the start of my Quark experience. The Quark team was very responsive to my concerns & remedied the holes TourRadar’s lacking created in my expedition experience.Show more

This was very different trip from the previous trip to Antarctica that we made on the same ship (the Sea Spirit) and a little disappointing given that we had such a great time down South. What was the most inspirational moment of your trip? Seeing the polar bear, the walrus, the Arctic hare and the fin whales. What did you think of your group leader? A jolly chap, maybe a bit too much so at times and like many Australians a bit overbearing. Do you have any advice for potential travellers? The Arctic is an interesting place to visit but if you are really looking for wildlife experiences and can afford it, go to South Georgia/Antarctica!Show more

The tour was great. The guide was knowledgeable and a safe driver, providing suggestions to modify the itinerary with the changing weather while not leaving anything out. I also appreciated his option of lunch on the go to maximize daylight hours in late November. The glacier walk itself was a highlight, though I will say more than depicted in the guide. We walked for quite some time both to get to the glacier and then on the glacier.Show more

- For any tour departing before September 18th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after September 18th, 2026, a minimum payment of 25% is required to confirm your booking with Exodus Adventure Travels. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 120 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
