Edita· January 2nd, 2026I liked the trip very much. Our CEO, Kushwan, was a great leader—a kind and knowledgeable man—and a big part of the trip’s success. It was my first trip with G Adventures, and I appreciated the company’s focus on supporting local NGOs and initiatives. I believe this truly makes a difference. Some things could be improved, though—first of all, the location of the selected hotels. While the hotels in Jaipur and Varanasi were nice, it took around 40 minutes by taxi to reach the city center. Food choices for lunch and dinner could also be more interesting. We mostly visited touristic places, although for the same prices we could have enjoyed more upscale dining with opportunities to mingle with locals. One last thing to consider: December is always foggy, and train journeys can be unreliable. Both trains we took were delayed by 3–4 hours, and our morning flight was cancelled. As a result, we missed almost two full days of sightseeing due to transportation delays. I don’t have a specific suggestion, but it might be worth considering alternative options.Show moreTrip date: December 2025- RDRoger· March 29th, 2025Excellent tour CEO, good itinerary including mix of cities and smaller towns and villages. Hotels were patchy - some really nice, some grossShow more
G Adventures commented on this reviewThank you so much for sharing your review, Roger! We have passed on your feedback concerning hotels to the appropriate teams.Trip date: March 2025 - SDSteven· March 3rd, 2025I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to India. The tour was logistically very well run. Transportation to and from the sites was always on time. The main attractions in India (The Taj Majal, Jaipur, the Ganges etc.) are legendary must sees for any traveler but I especially enjoyed the time spent in small villages among the people of India. These are the authentic experience which help us see real lives and culture of these amazing people. Our guide Shakti did an exceptional job of making the tour both educational and fun. (He organized a birthday party and an impromptu cricket match with the local kids.) I also appreciate that G Adventures included social welfare experiences. We had lunch in a restaurant run by women who were assaulted by having acid thrown in their faces. It is one thing to see a video about this but it more affecting to meet these women in person and hear their stories. My two weeks in India were well spent.Show more

Victoria· January 13th, 2025Amazing experience. I absolutely loved how you get to visit locals, see their living, eat home made foods. The tour takes care of everything, while making this experience unique. India is much cleaner than you expect. All hotels have bottled water, laundry services, restaurant options and so on. Honestly, it was one if the trips I'll keep talking about for years. Thank you so much!Show more

View in EnglishThe route of the trip was great, the organization so far, the tour guide was also quite good, the only thing I would like to criticize is the accommodation. In a country like In a country like India, you can get much better accommodation for a few euros more, and it was mainly the cleanliness that bothered us.Show more

Surpassed every single expectation of a group tour. I’ve fallen head over heels in love with India, but the experience was absolutely made by the G-Adventures CEO who travelled with us. Traveler•Written September 2025Do you suggest I exchange dollars for Rupee prior to arrival? Are credit cards accepted at shops? Are dollars accepted? What is an approximate estimate per day of Rupee I should have on hand for expenses? I am from Florida where attire is not modest. I read shoulders, cleavage and thighs should be covered. Any other advise about appropriate clothing to wear as a woman?
G AdventuresOperator•Written September 2025It is generally best to get Rupees in destination, credit cards are accepted in most cities and larger towns. Often travellers simply exchange money upon arrival at the airport or their hotel. It is important to dress comfortably but modestly, yes. Lightweight cotton clothing is recommended, a packing list is included in the tour details once you have confirmed your booking.
