The current itinerary does not include a visit to the Leshan Giant Buddha. However, it is actually quite convenient to visit Leshan as an additional day trip from Chengdu, so I'd be happy to recommend this option if you are interested. You could arrive in Chengdu one day earlier and make a day trip to Leshan on your own: 🚆 Chengdu → Leshan by train: approximately RMB 50 per person each way 🚕 From Leshan Railway Station, you can take a taxi to the scenic area, which is very convenient. 🎫 Leshan Giant Buddha entrance ticket: approximately RMB 80 per person 🚌 There is also a RMB 15 shuttle/connecting bus fee within the scenic area. 🚤 If you would like to see the Giant Buddha from the river, you can also take the sightseeing boat, which is approximately RMB 70 per person. 🚆 The latest train from Leshan back to Chengdu is around 10:00 PM, so there should be plenty of time to enjoy the visit and return to Chengdu the same day. Overall, it is a very manageable day trip and doesn't require an overnight stay in Leshan.

I genuinely enjoyed this tour from beginning to end. I was a little unsure of what to expect before the trip, but everything turned out better than I had hoped. The itinerary was well arranged, and I never felt like we were being rushed from one place to another. Our tour guide was one of the highlights for me. The program was well- organized, with visits to cultural sites, local neighborhoods, scenic spots, and authentic experiences. They had different things to offer each day and they didn't go at too fast a pace to enjoy the destinations they were visiting. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and was really attentive during the tour. These were very interesting to hear about Chengdu's history, traditions, food and lifestyle, making each visit more interesting. I would also like to thank them for their recommendations on restaurants and activities around the area during our time off. Reliable and comfortable transportation, adequate and clean lodging. Daily tours, transfers, etc., everything was done in an efficient way so that it was smooth and stress-free. The opportunity to experience Chengdu's unique culture and cuisine was definitely one of the highlights. The 8 Days Unique Experiences of Chengdu was overall an above average experience.
