  Our journey through Sri Lanka was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything was thoughtfully arranged, and we felt well cared for throughout the trip. From Wilpattu's lush landscapes and cloudy mountains to the breathtaking plains of the Horton Plains, every destination offered something special. Seeing elephants up close in Minneriya was a highlight, as were the quieter moments: sunrises over the mountains, spectacular sunsets, endless landscapes, and the beauty of our surroundings. Our guide Wasantha was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about Sri Lanka. His understanding of the wildlife and landscape made each safari drive more engaging and meaningful. Although some major sightings attracted many safari vehicles, we still enjoyed wonderful, respectful encounters and gained an even deeper appreciation for Sri Lanka’s remarkable wildlife and beauty. A heartfelt thank you to Roar & Rove for making this journey so special. We returned home with beautiful memories, countless photographs, and a strong desire to experience Sri Lanka again.   Our safari tour was absolutely incredible and truly exceeded all our expectations. We were incredibly lucky to see the Sri Lankan leopard, elephants, and bears, plus many endemic birds and so much more! Every moment was unforgettable, from the breathtaking wildlife encounters to the stunning landscapes. The organisation was excellent from start to finish. Our Jeep was comfortable, and our driver was fantastic, very knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about the wildlife. The lodges were also top-notch, with beautiful locations, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable safari adventure!Show more

  Our tour turned out to be a private tour, with just my husband and me, which made the experience even more special. Lahiru informed us about this early on, so there was nothing to worry about. We had a private vehicle, driver, and guide throughout the trip, and all of our safaris were private as well. The original hotels were changed to higher-quality properties, and we were very happy with the replacements. Every property we stayed at was excellent, with wonderful welcomes, warm hospitality, and great service. The food was also very good, and we had absolutely no complaints. During the safaris, staying hydrated is very important, especially in the heat. Cold drinking water was always provided, and our vehicle even had a water bottle holder/case. Our guide was also very thoughtful and made sure we always had water when needed. The safaris themselves were absolutely fantastic. We saw so many animals, including iconic leopards, herds of elephants, birds, monkeys, and many other species. One of the highlights was seeing a sloth bear. According to our safari drivers and guide, sloth bears are quite difficult to spot these days because they usually do not come out during the daytime due to the heat. We were very lucky to see one in Yala. It was quite far away, so we could not get great photos, but thankfully we had binoculars and were able to get a good view. We felt extremely lucky to have seen it! Overall, we highly recommend this company, and especially the Into the Wild Tour. Everything was well organized, the service was excellent, and the private experience made our safari adventure even more memorable. We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend them to anyone planning a Sri Lankan safari.Show more

  From the moment we booked, had follow up emails from our guide Lahiru, discussed options and what we were interested in. Before we landed knew we were in good, knowledgeable hands. All the accommodation was notified before hand so we knew where we headed each day, all were friendly, clean and welcoming. Tour incorporated multiple safaris, with drivers who were knowledgeable of the park, respected by other drivers and knew where the animal paths usually crossed. Saw leopard on our first trip into Wilpattu National Park ! Wildlife across all the parks we went to was stunning, such a joy to see the conservation efforts of the country. Our hike at Horton Plains was stunning, apart from the views saw the purple-faced langurs too. You will not be disappointed, as a guest with Roar & Rove, from the national park to the accommodation you are made welcome. Came away with a smile, loads of photos, a memory of wonderful people, heaps of wildlife (up close) and plans for a return trip. Recommend the tour, and Roar & Rove.Show more

  As an Aussie couple who love nature and wildlife, We'd highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. We weren't just interested in seeing wildlife and going on safari – we also wanted to experience the country's culture and history, and this tour gave us the perfect mix of both. Our guide and driver were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and really flexible, happily adjusting the itinerary whenever possible if there was something extra we wanted to see along the way. Nothing ever felt rushed. We visited Sigiriya, the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, and the Dambulla Cave Temple – all incredible places and important Buddhist sites that were well worth visiting. We also stopped at a tea factory and spent some time in the beautiful tea plantations, which was another highlight of the trip. The safaris were outstanding, with some amazing wildlife sightings. We were lucky enough to photograph leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, monkeys, elephants, and countless birds. If you're into wildlife photography, you'll love it. The hotels throughout the tour were excellent, with comfortable rooms and lovely staff who always made us feel welcome and were happy to help. Overall, it was a brilliant experience from start to finish. It was well organised, offered a great balance of wildlife, culture, and scenery, and we'd have no hesitation in recommending this tour to anyone looking to explore the best of Sri Lanka.Show more

  I loved it. The people were all very friendly, the food was absolutely healthy, spicy, and delicious. and saw tons of animals. As two girls traveling on our own, we felt very safe the whole time. The lodges we stayed at were all amazing, with great staff. We learned so much about Sri Lanka not just the animals and wildlife, but also the culture, history, and people as a country, and the way people live. Also, not to mention our guide, Wasantha traveling as two girls with him, he treated us like his own sisters. He warned us about scams, alerted us on what to avoid, and looked out for us the entire week. He’s respectful, kind, and caring. And thanks to Lahiru for his excellent organization and problem-solving mindset. We had quite a few mix-ups issues with eSIMs, and my friend had stomach problems so we had to see a doctor but everything was handled so well. Finally, I highly recommend this beautiful country Sri Lanka,Roar & Rove, and Lahiru,WasanthaShow more

I do wish we had spent more time in Kandy, Sigiriya, and Ella, but it leaves something for us to come back to and we will definitely use Roar & Rove again!Show more

  We spent one week on safari with a great and highly experienced guide (Wasantha from Roar & Rove). From Wilpattu to Minneriya, and from Horton Plains to Yala, we encountered countless animals and birds and experienced some truly impressive wildlife scenes. In addition, we visited a tea plantation near Nuwara Eliya and enjoyed a few days in Hikkaduwa. Safety was excellent throughout the trip. We made a few custom requests regarding the hotels we wanted to stay in, as well as some extra activities, and they were all arranged seamlessly by the Roar & Rove team. I would definitely recommend this tour and Roar & Rove for a safari trip around Sri Lanka!Show more

  We had an absolutely incredible experience with Roar & Rove! Everything was well organized, but the true highlight of our trip was our guide, Kesara. From start to finish, Kesara was outstanding. He is incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. We had so many questions about the wildlife and the landscape, and he took the time to answer every single one with a smile. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests having a great experience. As for the game drives, we saw a wide variety of animals, but the leopards were the absolute showstoppers! Thanks to Kesara and our safari driver’s spotting skills, we didn’t just see one or two, we saw several leopards throughout the trip. It was magical to observe them in their natural habitat. I highly recommend booking with Roar & Rove and Into the Wild, and definitely ask for Kesara if you can. He made our safari truly special!Show more
