Itinerary
- Day 1
Lisbon
You'll touch down in Lisbon and get transferred to your hotel. Spend the afternoon getting your bearings around the city, walking around the neighborhood near where you're staying. Stop by the hotel front desk to pick up information about what's on your tour agenda for the coming days.

- Day 2
Lisbon
This morning you'll take a guided tour through Lisbon, walking up and down its seven hills while checking out the narrow alleyways and those distinctive Portuguese tiles everywhere. After stopping in the historic Belém neighbourhood, you'll have free time in the afternoon to do your own thing. There's an optional excursion available if you want to head out to Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. Later you'll meet back up at Restauradores Square for the return.

- Day 3
Lisbon to Albufeira
You'll head south across the Tagus River bridge into the Algarve region. Start by walking through Lagos and its ancient city walls, then continue to Cape St. Vincent where mainland Europe just ends. The dramatic cliffs there are something to see, and the Sagres fortress sits right on the point. After that you'll reach Albufeira where there's time to relax on the beach or poke around the old town center if that interests you more.

Algarve to Évora
Travel through the Algarve to Faro for a casual walk around town, then head inland to the Alentejo. You'll stop at Mértola, a walled town sitting on the Guadiana River with its castle and white-painted houses. By evening you'll get to Évora and go inside the Chapel of Bones (your ticket's included). After that, wander through the UNESCO walled city and see its medieval palaces, Gothic buildings, and the old Roman temple still standing there.

Évora to Fátima
Moving through the Alentejo, you'll start in Marvão, a fortified hilltop town with great views across the countryside. Next is Castelo de Vide where you can explore the old Jewish quarter and check out the converted medieval synagogue museum. Then you'll get to Tomar to see the Convent of Christ, which was originally a Templar fortress-convent. There's also a stop in Aljustrel to see the house of Lucia, one of the shepherd children from the Fátima visions. You'll arrive in Fátima with time to walk around the Sanctuary and an option to join a candlelight procession if you'd like.

Fátima to Porto
You'll head north and pull into Porto around 11 a.m. From there you'll board a traditional Rabelo boat for a 50-minute cruise down the Douro River, getting views of Porto's waterfront with all those colorful buildings stacked on the hills. Afterward you'll have free time to wander the Ribeira district with its tight alleyways, merchant houses painted in bright colors, and local cafes.

Porto to Santiago de Compostela
Next you're off to Braga where you'll ride up to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus using the world's oldest water-operated cable car. The views from up there are great, and you can explore the sanctuary itself. On the way back down you'll take the iconic scenic staircase. Then you'll cross into Galicia to visit Cambados, a historic town where you'll take a glass-bottom boat out on the Ría de Arousa to see how they farm mussels and oysters, followed by a wine and mussel tasting. You'll finish the day in Santiago de Compostela with a city tour of its medieval streets and learning about its pilgrimage significance.

Santiago de Compostela to Madrid
Following the Way of St. James route, you'll pause in Lugo to walk through its historic center and see the remarkably well-preserved Roman Walls that are on the UNESCO list. Continue to O Cebreiro, a small Galician village known for its unique stone architecture. By lunchtime you'll reach León and visit its Gothic cathedral with its impressive stained glass windows, then take a walk through the old center. Around 5 p.m. you'll depart for Madrid, arriving there around 9 p.m.
