Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Dades Valley
Your pickup happens at 8 in the morning from your Marrakech hotel, then you're heading into the Atlas Mountains through Col Tichka pass where there'll be several stops to take in the views and grab some photos. The drive continues to Ouarzazate so you can see the Kasbah of Taourirt, after which you'll walk through the palm groves around Skoura and check out the Kasbah of Amerdil. From there it's on through the Valley of Roses before you reach the Dades Gorges, where dramatic cliff walls surround everything and you'll settle in for the night.

Dades Valley to Erg Chebbi Desert
After eating breakfast, you're traveling through landscapes scattered with kasbahs and fortified citadels, and you might spot dromedaries resting on the rocky plateaus. Moving through Tineghir gets you to the Todra Gorges, which are pretty hard to miss with those towering rock formations. Then it's Erfoud (where they're known for fossils) and Rissani where the nomadic market is in full swing. In the afternoon you'll climb onto a dromedary for a sunset ride out into the desert, finishing at a traditional tent camp in Erg Chebbi where you'll sleep under stars that night.

- Day 3
Erg Chebbi Desert to Ouarzazate
You're riding a dromedary back as the sun comes up, heading to your hotel for breakfast once you arrive. Next stop is Khamlia, a village with roots going back to Mali, where you'll have tea and listen to traditional gnawa music while you relax. A 4x4 tour of Erg Chebbi shows you the Great Dune of Morocco which climbs over 250 meters high, plus a panoramic viewpoint worth the stop. The rest of your day involves heading back toward Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, stopping to look at adobe kasbahs, small Berber villages, and some interesting rock formations and geological shapes along the route.

Ouarzazate to Marrakech
Ouarzazate is your first stop, and since it's called the Hollywood of Morocco, you might want to visit the film studios where 'Gladiator' and 'The Jewel of the Nile' got filmed (though that's optional). Then you head north on a 6 km track toward Ait Ben Haddou to see its UNESCO World Heritage kasbah. Lunch happens in the village, after that you're driving back through the High Atlas Mountains with nice views all around before getting back to your Marrakech hotel.
