Itinerary
- Day 1
Madrid to Zaragoza to Pamplona
You'll leave Madrid early and head north to Zaragoza, where you have time to walk through the Basilica del Pilar and the old town. If you're interested, there's an optional visit to Aljaferia Palace. From there, continue on to Pamplona, known for the Running of the Bulls festival and its historic quarter where you can wander the medieval streets. Dinner is set up at your hotel that evening.

Pamplona to San Sebastian - Bilbao - Santander
Start the day with breakfast, then drive to San Sebastian to spend time relaxing on La Concha beach, one of Spain's nicest coastal spots. From there, continue to Bilbao for a quick look at the Guggenheim Museum's striking architecture. Later, drive along Spain's northern coast to Santander, where you'll have free time to check out the town before dinner.

Santander to Santillana del Mar - Covadonga - Oviedo
Travel to Santillana del Mar, a medieval village that's protected as a National Monument with cobblestone streets and old stone buildings. Pass through scenic countryside on your way to Covadonga in the Picos de Europa mountains, where you can visit the sacred shrine nestled in a dramatic landscape. By evening, you'll arrive in Oviedo with dinner included.

- Day 4
Oviedo to La Coruna - Santiago de Compostela
Have breakfast before heading west into Galicia, starting with a quick tour of La Coruna's main sights. Then continue to Santiago de Compostela in Spain's northwestern corner, where you'll stay for two nights. Dinner is included this evening to help you get started exploring the city.

- Day 5
Santiago de Compostela
Join a guided tour of Santiago de Compostela, visiting Plaza del Obradoiro and the Cathedral, which is the heart of this famous pilgrimage destination. The afternoon opens up for you to relax back at your hotel or wander around the city on your own. Dinner is included in the evening.

Santiago de Compostela to Rias Bajas to Vigo
After breakfast, head west toward the Spanish Fjords and the Rias Bajas region. You'll stop at La Toja Island to get a feel for the area, then move on to O Grove. There's an optional catamaran trip out to oyster and mussel farms where you can try fresh mussels paired with local Ribeiro wine. Later, you'll travel to Vigo with free time to check out the city. If you'd like, you can also take an optional excursion to Santa Tecla.

Vigo to Leon
You'll leave Vigo and travel inland through Castilla y León to reach León, a historic city known for its artistic heritage. Once there, you have free time to visit the Gothic cathedral if that interests you, or just walk around the charming old town and take in the architecture. Hotel dinner is included for the evening.

- Day 8
Leon to Salamanca - Madrid
Head to Salamanca this morning and have free time to explore this historic city, including its famous Plaza Mayor, the historic university, and both the Old and New Cathedrals. Later, drive back to Madrid where the tour ends. You'll be dropped off on Ferraz Street near Plaza de Espana.
