My daughter and I had been talking about visiting Morocco together for years, so when we finally booked this trip, we wanted to take our time rather than spend a week rushing from one city to another. Fifteen days turned out to be exactly right. What we enjoyed most was the variety. Casablanca was a gentle start, then came the imperial cities, the blue streets of Chefchaouen, the Atlantic atmosphere of Essaouira and, in between, landscapes that seemed to change every day. We are both big fans of local markets, so the medinas were a real treat for us. We spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at spices, handmade products, jewelry and little things we absolutely didn't need but somehow brought home anyway! The Sahara was a completely different experience. The two of us sitting on the dunes watching the sunset is a memory I know we'll talk about for years. The evening at the luxury camp was lovely, especially the dinner and music under the stars. My daughter even convinced me to wake up early for sunrise—and I'm glad she did. Having a private tour made a big difference. We could take our time, ask questions and occasionally change the pace when we were tired. Our driver was patient, kind and genuinely enjoyable to travel with. By the end of the trip, it felt less like having a driver and more like traveling with someone who had become part of our little adventure. Essaouira was probably my personal favorite. After all the busy medinas and long days on the road, walking beside the ocean, eating fresh seafood and simply slowing down felt wonderful. For anyone traveling with family, especially if you have the time, I would choose a longer itinerary like this one. Fifteen days gave us enough space to actually enjoy Morocco instead of constantly watching the clock.Show more
