Helsinki
You'll touch down in Helsinki and have the afternoon to settle into the capital. This is your chance to get oriented with the city, find your accommodation, and start getting a feel for Finland's main hub before the real exploring begins.

Helsinki to Lappeenranta
After breakfast, head east toward Lappeenranta with a potential detour through Porvoo, where you can walk through the old cobblestone streets and see the colorful riverside buildings that line the harbor. It's a nice stop if you want to break up the drive.

Lappeenranta
You've got the full day free in Lappeenranta. Take a two-hour boat ride on Lake Saimaa if you want something on the water, check out the Sandcastle if you're visiting June through August, or catch an evening trip to the Imatrankoski rapids for some natural scenery.

Lappeenranta - Savonlinna - Joensuu
After breakfast, travel west through Finland's lake region toward Joensuu. On the way, stop in Savonlinna to see Olavinlinna Castle sitting on its own island in the lake. The drive takes you through some genuinely beautiful countryside with water everywhere.

Joensuu to Jyväskylä
Breakfast is included before you continue west past Varkaus toward Jyväskylä. This city has a real creative vibe with its art galleries and cultural venues, so you might spend some time checking those out after you arrive.

Jyväskylä - Tampere - Turku
Drive through Tampere, which sits between two lakes with an 18-meter drop between them connected by the Tammerkoski rapids, then continue on to Turku, Finland's oldest city. Breakfast comes first, and then you've got the drive and time to explore Turku's historical areas.
