Vienna
A local guide takes you through Vienna's main sights this morning, including the Opera House, City Hall, the Parliament Building, Stadtpark gardens, and St. Stephens Cathedral. Later in the evening, you'll have dinner at a local restaurant to wrap up the day.

You'll travel through Austria and stop in the historic city of Steyr for an orientation tour and time to walk around on your own. From there, the drive continues to Salzburg, where you'll be staying for the next two nights.

Salzburg
A local guide leads you through Salzburg to see Mirabell Gardens, Mozart's birthplace and residence, Getreidegasse shopping street, and the Old Market Square. Along the way, you'll learn about Mozart's history and the Von Trapp family connection to The Sound of Music.

Salzburg to Schwangau
Your coach takes you through the Salzkammergut region, Austria's Lakes District, where you'll recognize landscapes from The Sound of Music. You'll continue on to the Schwangau region in Germany, known for its mountains, lakes, castles, and traditional half-timbered villages.

Schwangau
After a short drive, you'll reach Neuschwanstein Castle, one of the most photographed buildings around. You'll explore its rooms before heading back to your hotel to relax for the evening.

Schwangau to Zermatt
You leave Schwangau and travel to Chur, where you board the Glacier Express train. The journey takes you through the Swiss Alps to Zermatt, with views of snow-capped mountains and valleys the whole way. You'll arrive in Zermatt with the Matterhorn (4,478 metres) rising right up from the town.

Zermatt
Early this morning, you'll take a mountain railway up to Gornergrat in the Swiss Alps. From there, you'll have 360-degree views of the surrounding peaks, with the Matterhorn as the main attraction.

Zermatt to Montreux
You'll travel through the Alps to Montreux, a resort town right on Lake Geneva. Tonight, dinner happens in a chalet-style restaurant in the mountains, complete with traditional live alphorn music and information about the cultural importance of the alphorn to the region.

Jungfrau Region
You have the day to explore the alpine village at the base of the Eiger mountain and its surroundings. You can either take a scenic cruise on Lake Brienz or ride a cogwheel train up to Jungfraujoch, known as the top of Europe at the peak of the Jungfrau.

Later, you'll head to Lucerne at the foot of the Alps on its lake, get an orientation tour, and explore the Old Town. By evening, you'll be in Zurich, Switzerland's largest city and commercial hub, surrounded by alpine mountains.
