Itinerary
- Day 1
Rome
Your driver picks you up at the airport and takes you to your hotel to get settled. After that, you've got the rest of the day to yourself with a Hop-on Hop-off bus ticket included. The route has eight stops and commentary in 12 languages, so you can jump on and off whenever you see something interesting. It's a good day to ease into Rome and adjust to the time zone.

- Day 2
Rome
A local guide takes you through Rome's ancient history over 2.5 hours. You'll walk through the Colosseum, climb up Palatine Hill for city views, and wander around the Roman Forum where political life once happened. Skip-the-line tickets mean less waiting and more time to see things. Your afternoon and evening are free to do what you want around the city.

Rome - Assisi - Siena - Florence
After breakfast, you leave Rome by coach at 7:15 a.m. heading to Tuscany. First is Assisi, a medieval town with the Basilica of St Francis inside its ancient walls, followed by lunch. Then you drive to Siena, a UNESCO site known for its shell-shaped main square and the Palio horse race. You'll pass through rolling Tuscan countryside before arriving in Florence to check into your hotel.

- Day 4
Florence
Florence's Renaissance landmarks fill your day. You'll see the Duomo with its famous dome, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery, and Piazza della Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio. After lunch at a traditional Tuscan restaurant, you can spend the afternoon wandering Florence on your own or take an optional trip to nearby Pisa to see the Leaning Tower. Dinner tonight is on your own.

Florence - Bologna - Venice
After breakfast in Florence, you travel to Bologna to check out its historic center with its elegant porticos and landmarks like Piazza del Nettuno and the Basilica of San Petronio. You'll try street food for lunch at a local spot, sampling both traditional and newer flavors. Later in the afternoon, you continue on to Venice.

- Day 6
Venice
A transfer takes you to Piazza San Marco for a guided tour of Venice's key sites. You'll see the Doge's Palace from outside and walk across the Bridge of Sighs. Then you pause for a glass of spritz or prosecco with traditional Venetian cicchetti snacks while taking in the surroundings. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore however you like around the canals.

Venice - Verona - Franciacorta - Bergamo
Leaving Venice, you head to Verona where a guide walks you through Roman ruins, medieval buildings, and Renaissance palaces, including Juliet's house from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Then you go to Franciacorta, famous for its winemaking, and have lunch with local food paired with regional wine. Later you continue to Bergamo for your overnight stay.

Lake Garda
You're taking a day trip to Lake Garda, Italy's largest lake. The drive along the west coast gives you views of the Brenta Dolomites and surrounding hills with vegetation. In Sirmione, a boat tour shows you the medieval castle and ancient Grottoes of Catullus. After free time for lunch, you head to Desenzano del Garda to see its lakeside promenade. You return to Bergamo for dinner and overnight.

- Day 9
Bergamo - Lake Como - Milan
After breakfast, you stop briefly in Como to see Lake Como and the Alps beyond. Then you board a boat to Bellagio, an elegant village where two branches of the lake meet, with narrow streets and historic villas. Lunch is when you want it. In the afternoon, you take the ferry to Cadenabbia where your driver meets you and takes you to Milan for overnight.

- Day 10
Milan - St Moritz - Tirano - Milan
You travel to St Moritz in Switzerland with some time to look around. Then you board the Bernina Express for one of the world's most scenic train rides through the Swiss Alps. The route crosses Bernina Pass with mountain peaks, alpine villages, and large viaducts. Your driver picks you up in Tirano and returns you to Milan. Consider grabbing dinner in the Navigli canal district this evening.

- Day 11
Milan
The morning is yours to explore Milan however you want. In the afternoon, you meet a local guide for a three-hour walking tour. Starting at Porta Venezia, you walk along Corso Venezia through gardens and past galleries, then along Viale Manzoni. You see Teatro alla Scala from outside and look at the Duomo's facade. The tour ends at Castello Sforzesco with a relaxing drink afterwards.
