  1. Day 1

    Lhasa

    Your guide will meet you at Lhasa airport and drive you to your hotel. Since you're arriving at high altitude, take it easy for the rest of the day and let your body adjust to Tibet's thin air.

  2. Day 2

    Lalin Expressway

    After breakfast, you'll head to Kadinggou, known locally as Heaven on Earth, and spend about an hour walking through the gorge with its deep ravines, rushing water, forests and unusual rock formations. From there, you'll drive along the Lalin Expressway, one of China's most beautiful routes, with stops to photograph snow-capped mountains, forests and grasslands.

  3. Day 3

    Lulang Forest - Basomtso

    Following breakfast, drive toward Segrila Mountain and Segrila Pass where you might catch views of Namjagbarwa if the weather cooperates. Later, explore the Lulang Forest area with its various tree types and herds around small villages. You'll visit a viewing platform overlooking Namcha Barwa at 7,756m and other peaks, then check out Biri Holy Mountain, a sacred site with its prayer flags and scenic areas. Overnight in Basomtso.

    Jieba Village

    Spend time at Basomtso Lake, a national forest park featuring snow mountains, forests, waterfalls and pastures. You'll also wander through Jieba Village, which offers the best views of the lake and surrounding snow peaks called King's Throne and Burning Flames.

    Lhasa

    In the morning, you'll go to the art center to try traditional Tibetan handcrafts like making incense and woodblock printing, or learn some Tibetan language with local teachers. Later, head to Sera Monastery to watch monks debate in the courtyard (typically 3:00pm to 5:30pm Monday through Saturday, though this can change). You'll have free time afterward to walk Lhasa's streets or rest at your hotel.

Then head to Jokhang Temple, the main pilgrimage destination, to see its statue of young Sakyamuni. Before heading back, browse through Barkhor Street for handicrafts, prayer wheels and Tibetan incense.

    Yamdrok Lake - Karola Glacier

    Drive up to Kampala Pass at 4,797m and look down at the turquoise waters of Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet's three sacred lakes. From Karol la Pass, photograph the blue waters and the glacier on Mount Nyenchen Khangsar in the distance. You'll also visit Karola Glacier before heading back.

    Shigatse to Mount Everest Base Camp

    After breakfast, you'll depart from Shigatse and head toward Mount Everest, driving through incredible blue skies and endless grasslands with world-class mountain peaks all around. Stop at Rongbuk Monastery, the world's highest altitude monastery, then continue to Everest Base Camp where you'll spend the night.

    Everest Base Camp to Shigatse

  10. Day 10

    Shigatse to Lhasa

    Return to Lhasa either by train or vehicle. Once there, visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama and Tibet's second highest religious leader, with its chapels, shrines and main hall where monks chant. You'll also see the red Jamkhang Chenmo building with its 90-foot statue of Maitreya, the Future Buddha, built in 1914.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
