- Day 1
Oviedo
You'll arrive in Asturias and head straight to the Gothic Cathedral of San Salvador, the historic starting point of the Camino. After spending time there, wander through Oviedo's old town as evening sets in, checking out the traditional cider houses scattered throughout the charming streets.

Landmarks Cathedral of San Salvador - Day 2
Oviedo to Avilés
Start with a relaxed morning to revisit the cathedral or browse local museums in Oviedo if you'd like. Then cycle through Monte Naranco's foothills, moving between urban and rural settings. You'll reach Avilés by afternoon, where the historic city center and Niemeyer Art Center are waiting. The ride covers about 30 km with roughly 400 m of climbing.

Landmarks Monte Naranco Niemeyer Art Center - Day 3
Avilés to Cudillero
Cycle along the coast taking in the views while passing through villages with traditional Asturian architecture. The Nalón River and Castle of San Martín mark your route before you climb toward Muros de Nalón, then drop into Cudillero, a fishing village with plenty of character. This stage is approximately 32 km with about 575 m of elevation gain.

- Day 4
Cudillero to Luarca
Head through countryside on one of the Camino del Norte's best sections, moving through Soto de Luiña and onto the Camín Real de Las Ballotas coastal path. You'll have beach access near Cadavedo, then climb to Canero for views over Luarca and its whitewashed buildings. The day covers around 55 km with approximately 680 m of ascent.

- Day 5
Luarca to Ribadeo
Leave the coast and cycle inland on gentle paths through rolling hills and quiet forests toward Navia. Continue on to Tapia with its small harbor and Penarronda Beach backed by cliffs. After crossing the Eo River, you'll enter Galicia and finish in Ribadeo with its attractive estuary. Expect approximately 55 km with about 325 m of climbing.

Ribadeo to Mondoñedo
Turn inland into Galicia's green hills on a mountain route through quiet rural areas with sparse villages. A significant 260 meter climb over 5 kilometers occurs between A Ponte de Arante and Gondán. Pass Vilanova de Lourenzá and its old monastery, then reach Mondoñedo, the medieval bishopric capital with a cathedral dating to 1246. Around 38 km with approximately 975 m of elevation.

Mondoñedo to Vilalba
Climb up to Terra Chá, the inland highlands of Lugo, rising from 140 to 560 meters above sea level. The route takes you through Valiñadares and Lousada valleys toward Abadín and Vilalba, a town with medieval roots. This stage covers roughly 33 km with about 600 m of ascent.

Vilalba to Sobrado dos Monxes
Ride on mixed terrain - gravel, trails, and muddy corredoiras (tractor ruts) - with minimal climbing, so you can relax into the rural landscape. Stop in Baamonde for coffee and a bocadillo before entering a solitary, wooded stretch. Head through As Cruces to Sobrado dos Monxes, home to an impressive monastery founded in 951. Approximately 52 km with around 635 m of elevation gain.

Sobrado dos Monxes to Santiago de Compostela
The setting turns more urban as Santiago approaches. Join the classic Camino French Way in Arzúa, where you'll feel the energy building among other pilgrims despite the crowded, somewhat repetitive terrain. Pause at Monte do Gozo to catch sight of the cathedral spires, then stop at the spring in Lavacolla before rolling into Santiago de Compostela. About 56 km with roughly 625 m of climbing.

Your Camino finishes after breakfast. You can either book an extra night in Santiago de Compostela to extend your experience, or take time to rest after completing the full route.
