- Day 1
Anchorage
You'll land in Anchorage where your German-speaking guide picks you up at the airport. After heading to your hotel, you'll meet the other folks in your tour group and settle in for the night.

- Day 2
Anchorage to Denali National Park
Following breakfast, you'll drive north from Anchorage along the George Parks Highway toward Denali, passing by glaciers and beaver dams along the way. By late afternoon, there's an optional one-hour glacier flight near Denali Mountain if the weather cooperates (it's worth doing if conditions allow).

- Day 3
Denali National Park
You head out early on a wildlife tour using a park shuttle bus that takes you deep into Denali's landscape. Weather permitting, you'll see Denali Mountain at 6,193 meters, the highest peak in the USA. Watch for wolves, Dall sheep, moose, caribou, and grizzly bears throughout the day, and you'll stop at Wonder Lake, the largest in the area.

Denali National Park to Fairbanks
Driving north along the George Parks Highway, you'll arrive in Fairbanks by midday. This city sits about 320 kilometers from the Arctic Circle and offers geology and history museums, paths along the river, and an optional paddle steamer trip on the Chena River to try.

- Day 5
Fairbanks to Dawson City
You'll leave Fairbanks and head south through countryside full of rivers and lakes. You'll see the Trans-Alaska Pipeline crossing the Tanana River, then take the Top of the World Highway through alpine plateaus and tundra. After crossing the highest border between Canada and the USA at Little Gold Creek and passing through villages like Chicken and Action Jackson, you'll cross the Yukon River by ferry to reach Dawson City.

Dawson City
You'll walk through this historic gold rush town at the mouth of the Klondike River. There's an option to pan for gold yourself, visit the gold diggers' museum or Jack London Cabin, and stroll restored buildings. By evening, head to Diamond Tooth Gerties to try your luck at gambling and catch cancan dance performances.

Dempster Highway
You'll drive the Dempster Highway, the only road leading to Inuvik in the Northwest Territories on the Arctic Ocean. You'll discover the Tombstone Mountains and experience tundra landscape throughout the day. There's also an excursion to Midnight Dome, a local mountain near Dawson City, with great views.

Dawson City to Whitehorse
Heading back to Whitehorse along the Klondike Highway, you'll have views of the Yukon River. You'll stop at Five Finger Rapids, a massive rapid that once threatened paddle steamers, and pass old post stations and villages from the gold rush. Late afternoon brings you to Whitehorse with an optional visit to nearby Miles Canyon, which was formed by basaltic lava flows and has views from a historic suspension bridge.

Whitehorse to Skagway
Continuing south along the Klondike Highway to Skagway, an old coastal gold mining town, you'll make scenic stops along the way. You'll check out the Carcross Desert (the smallest in the world) and Emerald Lake with its rainbow coloration. There's also an optional train ride over the famous White Pass to Skagway if you're interested.

Skagway to Haines Junction
You'll drive west on the Alaska Highway and reach Haines Junction by early afternoon at the foot of Kluane National Park. This massive park has the largest contiguous glacier area outside the two poles and diverse wildlife. A guided short hike may be offered depending on weather and group preferences, plus optional bush plane or helicopter flights over the glaciers.

Haines Junction to Tok
You'll drive along Kluane Lake's shores and stop at Sheep Mountain Visitor Center where you might spot rare snow-white Dall sheep in the surrounding mountains. From there, continue to Soldier Summit to learn about the Alaska Highway's construction and opening in 1942, then head toward the Alaska-Canada border.

Tok to Valdez
Driving south past rivers, lakes, and glaciers, you'll pass Wrangell-St. Elias National Park before continuing on the Richardson Highway toward the Pacific coast and Valdez. The coastal mountain crossing through Thompson Pass features waterfalls right on the road. Valdez sits framed by alpine surroundings and locals call it Little Switzerland.

Valdez to Whittier to Seward
A ferry takes you through Prince William Sound with numerous glaciers, forested islands, and close views of the Pacific coast. Watch for sea lions, whales, sea otters, and puffins. You'll stop to see Portage Glacier and Byron Glacier, then drive through the Chugach Mountains past glacial rivers and lakes to Seward, a lively fishing town where you can try king crab and other local food.

Seward to Anchorage
In the morning you can explore Kenai National Park with an optional Kenai Fjords Tour taking you deep into the diverse fjord area. After leaving the Kenai Peninsula along the Kenai Mountains, you'll drive past Turnagain Inlet back to Anchorage. Watch for white beluga whales often seen in this bay, then finish with a meal at one of Anchorage's restaurants or microbreweries.

Anchorage
On your final day, there's plenty to do in Anchorage. Visit Lake Spenard, the largest seaplane airfield with around 800 planes daily in summer, or check out the nearby Aviation Museum with legendary aircraft. Alternatively, relax after your trip, do some shopping, or just enjoy the city before your airport transfer.
