It was an amazing trip full of beautiful places and views. And it was absolutely well organized and maintained by our guide Caterina and our driver David. Caterina did everything to make us feel comfortable, safe and enjoy our trip, and David let us feel relaxed while in the bus. I wish Caterina and David all the best, and thank you!

Everything was very well organised and the hotel accommodation ranged from good to excellent. Lots of sightseeing packed in but interspersed with plenty of opportunities to relax. Best of all was our guide, Renato who was good-humoured, knowledgeable and entertaining throughout, while organising with calm efficiency.

Best places to start your Canada Alaska tour
Vancouver turns out to be the most popular jumping-off point with 15 different departure options, while Calgary follows with 10 tour starts. Anchorage, Toronto and also Victoria round out the main gateway cities. Our booking data shows you should lock in your plans about 78 days ahead - that's roughly 2.5 months before you want to travel. The tours often stop in places like Banff, Victoria and also Dawson City, where you can get a real feel for local culture through food and historic sites. The food gets lots of positive feedback, especially on tours that include meals in the package. May and September are smart times to visit - you'll deal with fewer crowds and often get better prices, plus there's a chance to catch the Northern Lights in September. We've found people really like how the tours mix comfortable lodging with outdoor experiences. The Rocky Mountaineer train journey is a particular favorite - travelers love those glass-dome cars that let you see everything as you roll through the wilderness.

- Spring 2026
Spring really comes alive in the Canadian Rockies and Alaska with three excellent cruise combinations plus two land-only options that our clients love. The Rocky Mountaineer train portions work beautifully this time of year - those glass-dome cars give you perfect views of snow-capped peaks while valley floors start showing their first green. Before heading up the Inside Passage, where you might spot whales making their way back to Alaska, cruise-combo tours let you explore Vancouver properly. The land tours focus on Banff National Park just as hiking trails open and wildlife emerges. There's this neat option with private morning access to First Nations cultural centers - our travelers really appreciate learning about indigenous traditions over breakfast before the general public arrives. A few tours add stops in Kelowna's Okanagan Valley for wine tasting, which our customers say nicely balances out all the mountain experiences.

- Summer 2026
Long summer days make these northern regions perfect for spotting wildlife and exploring. Most people go for tours mixing land exploration with Alaska cruises - you'll see massive chunks of ice break off in Glacier Bay and brown bears catching fish along the coast. The Columbia Icefield Ice Explorer trip comes up again and again in our customer feedback; they love actually walking on ancient glacier ice. Summer stays at Fairmont hotels give you ideal bases for hiking and wildlife watching. We've got this one tour with a wagon ride to a BBQ dinner along the Bow River that our clients say captures real western Canadian culture. When you're traveling through Jasper and Banff parks, keep your camera ready - elk, bighorn sheep and sometimes grizzlies show up right beside the coach.
