Sospel
You're arriving in Sospel, a small village surrounded by terraced olive groves with mountain views all around. The location sits right where French and Italian cultures meet, and you'll notice this mix in the architecture, the food you'll eat, and the languages people speak here.

Landmarks Sospel - Day 2
Breil-sur-Roya to Sospel
After breakfast, you'll take a short transfer to Breil where your hike begins. The route follows stone terraces and olive groves up to the small village of Piène Haute, then drops down toward the France-Italy border. If you want, there's a 45-minute detour option to the Italian village of Olivetta (it's nice if you're up for it, but totally optional). After that, you'll walk through a botanical nature trail and pass through a gorge before arriving in Sospel. Grab dinner there to wrap up the day.

Sainte Agn\u00e8s
A short cab ride gets you to Col de Castillon pass, which offers great views across the Mediterranean. From there, you hike through an ash forest on wide paths leading to Mont Ours watchtower. On clear days, you can spot Corsica. Then comes a steep descent down a goat path to Sainte Agnès, Europe's highest coastal village at 800m elevation, just 3km from the water.

Menton
You'll pick up your packed lunch from the hotel and hike down from the mountains toward the coast. The path takes you through Monti and Castellar where you can stop and eat. After that, the trail heads down a series of steps that lead directly to Menton, and from there you can walk around the old town or jump in the sea if you'd like.

Landmarks Monti Castellar Menton - Day 5
Villefranche-sur-Mer
Following breakfast, the coastal train carries you to Villefranche-sur-Mer with your luggage. Once you've dropped your bags at the hotel, you'll hike around the Cap Ferrat peninsula to reach the lighthouse. The main walk takes about 3 hours, with an optional 1-hour loop around the eastern arm. Villa Rothschild is there too if you're interested in visiting.

Villefranche-sur-Mer
Your hiking week finishes after breakfast. There's an optional train trip to Eze where you can walk the famous Nietzsche path up to a medieval village perched 430m above sea level. The village has the Jardin exotique with Mediterranean and African succulents, plus shops and galleries. You'll return the same way by train back to Villefranche for a final walk along the beach.
