Itinerary

Arrival
You'll land at either Bari or Brindisi airport and pick up your rental car. From there, it's a drive to your hotel in the Alberobello area where you'll settle in for the night.

Castel del Monte
After breakfast, you'll head to Trani to check out its medieval cathedral. Next is Castel del Monte, the UNESCO site with its unique architecture and a guided tour included. Before returning to your hotel, there's a wine tasting in the area.

Landmarks Trani Cathedral Castel del Monte - Day 3
Locorotondo
This morning starts with a guided tour through Alberobello, where you'll see the distinctive conical trulli houses this UNESCO town is known for. Later you'll head to Locorotondo, called the 'white balcony' of the region for good reason with its whitewashed stone houses and baroque buildings.

Matera
You'll have a private guide walk you through Matera, a UNESCO site where whole neighborhoods are carved into stone. The Sassi district has networks of caves, tunnels, and those winding streets that really show how people adapted to living in rock. After exploring, you'll head back to your hotel.

- Day 5
Monopoli - Ostuni
Starting with Polignano a Mare perched on cliffs overlooking the sea, you'll then drive to Monopoli for its harbor and historic center with the castle and church facades. After that comes Ostuni, the hilltop 'White City' where you can wander through old alleyways and see the cathedral before heading back to your hotel.

- Day 6
Lecce
After breakfast, you'll drive south to Lecce for a half-day guided tour of this baroque city. The Cathedral and Basilica of Santa Croce show off some serious ornate architecture, and there's a stop at a pastry shop to try the traditional pasticciotto leccese. You'll overnight in the Lecce area.

Salento Beach or Otranto
You have options today. One choice is spending time at one of Salento's beaches like Torre dell'Orso or Baia dei Turchi. If beaches aren't your thing, the nearby town of Otranto works as an alternative with its own coastal charm.

Departure
It's time to head back north to either Bari or Brindisi airport. You'll return the rental car and catch your flight home after a week exploring this part of Italy.
