I did this tour on my own in late July 2026 and I recommend it highly if being on a bus or travelling with the same people for 12 days doesn't appeal to you. The mix of independent travel between cities with organised day tours was perfect for me. My accommodation in all 5 cities was fantastic – 4 stars – and close to the main train stations. Javier from EuroLatino tours was a fantastic guide who kept in touch on WhatsApp throughout the journey across Germany. Despite one day trip falling through the day before, due to low booking numbers, he organised a replacement walking tour itinerary within hours. This included booked tickets on 3 trains to get to the original destination of Rothenburg ob der Tauber from Frankfurt, which included an extra stop in Würzburg. I thoroughly enjoyed it, as it gave me an authentic local experience of a city in Germany while travelling on regional and local trains, which I wasn't expecting on this tour. While it was a longer day than all the others, it was certainly one of many highlights for me throughout this trip.Show more

My husband and I chose this tour specifically because it was by train and we could see so much. I have been on bus tours and didn’t want to spend days on a bus. We stayed in Frankfurt a couple days more at the beginning and we loved that. Old town Frankfurt is beautiful. We had one day in both Cologne and Bremen and felt it was enough. They are both beautiful though! Hamburg is a gorgeous port city. The Miniatur Wunderland is definitely worth the visit - it is incredible. And then the boat tour and hop on/hop off bus was also great to have. We felt that we saw so much in Hamburg in 2 days. Berlin has a guided tour, Potsdam and Sachsenhausen. All of these were great to see. We also went to Museum Island and saw a few of the museums too. I love WWII history so we got our fill of it here. Then Munich, I love Munich. We walked the Marienplatz and then there was the day trip to Linderhof and Neuschwanstein. We paid to go inside (which is extra) and we felt it was worth seeing. I did not know that Neuschwanstein was unfinished but what is there is extravagant. We also took in several beer halls including Hofbrauhaus. I think if we had another day in Munich, it would have been better (but that’s another reason to go back!). We were in constant contact with Javi, our guide, through WhatsApp. He would answer questions and offer suggestions throughout the trip. This is also how you receive your vouchers. It was the perfect balance of being on our own and being with a guided tour. There was some confusion over the transfers from the Frankfurt airport (our flight was late and the driver had left) and train stations (we didn’t know where to go), but Javi walked us through it as it happened - minor hiccups. Overall, it was an excellent trip and we would use Eurolatino tours again to help us see more of Europe by train.Show more

Our planner was not communicative about itinerary details and oftentimes we had to reach out to get tickets and more information for the next days’ plans. There were two city tours that were completely missed because of cancellation and one not booked at all. This was not communicated to us in advance. Having booked our tour radar experience over 4 months in advance, it seemed like the tour planner was booking tickets in real time rather than any advanced planning. We enjoyed the overall travel plan of the tour. I would not recommend using this tour company.Show more
