Antananarivo
You'll arrive in Antananarivo and get picked up for transfer to your hotel. This evening you meet your local guide and have a welcome dinner to start things off.

Antananarivo to Andasibe
Head east toward Reserve Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic to see reptiles and chameleons up close. After lunch you continue on to Andasibe National Park and do a night walk to spot nocturnal wildlife like lemurs and other creatures.

Andasibe
Walk through Analamazaotra Special Reserve's rainforest with birds, lemurs, and amphibians all around. You'll get close to creatures on Lemur Island and keep watching for the Indri lemur. Fair warning: this day involves a lot of walking.

Andasibe to Antsirabe
Travel south on Route Nationale 7 through highland views. Stop in Ambatolampy to watch people make traditional pots from recycled aluminum. Then head to Antsirabe, called the 'City of Water' for its thermal springs and colonial buildings.

- Day 5
Antsirabe to Ranomafana
See how locals craft miniature vehicles from recycled materials at a workshop. Visit artisans working with Zebu horns and precious stones. Move through the highlands to Ambositra, the handicraft capital known for Zafimaniry woodcarving, then head toward Ranomafana National Park.

- Day 6
Ranomafana
Start early with a ranger leading a hike through Ranomafana's rainforest to see lemurs and birds. Have lunch locally and the afternoon is yours to relax. At night you go out searching for mouse lemurs, chameleons, and other nocturnal animals. Expect significant walking today.

Ranomafana to Anja Reserve
Travel into southern Madagascar's semi-desert areas. Stop at the Antemoro Paper Mill in Ambalavao where ancient techniques create handmade silk and paper. Later you'll have a picnic in Anja Reserve, which has ring-tailed Catta lemurs.

Anja Reserve to Isalo
Check out Isalo National Park's Jurassic-age landscapes and rock formations. Visit the Baras Tombs and walk through a botanic garden. Hike through canyons and oases with a ranger, then relax back at the lodge with a swim in the pool or natural spring. This is a challenging walking day.

Isalo to Ifaty
Travel south through Ilakaka, a market town where sapphire diggers work. Stop at Zombitse National Park to see dry forests, marshes, and baobabs plus Sifaka lemurs. After time in Toliara port city you continue to Ifaty, a quiet fishing village on the Mozambique Channel with a palm-lined beach.

- Day 10
Ifaty
Head out early to Reniala Private Reserve, the Baobab Forest with Madagascar's iconic ancient baobab trees and unique plants. Return for breakfast, then the rest of your day is free to walk Ifaty's beach, check out markets, try fresh seafood, and enjoy the laid-back vibe.

Ifaty to Antananarivo
Leave Ifaty and fly back to Antananarivo. Visit Ambohimanga, a UNESCO World Heritage Site tied to the Merina Monarchy. You'll take a cooking class at lunch to learn Madagascar's food, then have free time to walk the capital's markets and get a feel for the city.
