    You'll arrive in Antananarivo and get picked up for transfer to your hotel. This evening you meet your local guide and have a welcome dinner to start things off.

  2. Day 2

    Antananarivo to Andasibe

    Head east toward Reserve Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic to see reptiles and chameleons up close. After lunch you continue on to Andasibe National Park and do a night walk to spot nocturnal wildlife like lemurs and other creatures.

    Antsirabe to Ranomafana

    See how locals craft miniature vehicles from recycled materials at a workshop. Visit artisans working with Zebu horns and precious stones. Move through the highlands to Ambositra, the handicraft capital known for Zafimaniry woodcarving, then head toward Ranomafana National Park.

    Ranomafana

    Start early with a ranger leading a hike through Ranomafana's rainforest to see lemurs and birds. Have lunch locally and the afternoon is yours to relax. At night you go out searching for mouse lemurs, chameleons, and other nocturnal animals. Expect significant walking today.

    Anja Reserve to Isalo

    Check out Isalo National Park's Jurassic-age landscapes and rock formations. Visit the Baras Tombs and walk through a botanic garden. Hike through canyons and oases with a ranger, then relax back at the lodge with a swim in the pool or natural spring. This is a challenging walking day.

    Isalo to Ifaty

    Travel south through Ilakaka, a market town where sapphire diggers work. Stop at Zombitse National Park to see dry forests, marshes, and baobabs plus Sifaka lemurs. After time in Toliara port city you continue to Ifaty, a quiet fishing village on the Mozambique Channel with a palm-lined beach.
