Quito
You'll arrive in Quito and your English-speaking driver will take you to your hotel. After you're settled, the rest of the day is yours to spend however you like. Some people like to walk around and get a feel for the city right away, while others prefer to rest and adjust to the altitude and time zone.

Equator & Volcanic Wonders
Head out to the Middle of the World Complex where you can stand right on the equator with one foot in each hemisphere, which is pretty cool. From there, you'll visit the Ethnographic Museum to learn about Ecuadorian indigenous cultures and traditions. Later in the day, you'll trek through the Geobotanical Reserve Pululahua, which sits inside a dormant volcano crater. The walk takes you through different ecosystems and gives you nice views of the landscape before heading back to Quito.

Quito's Culture and Culinary Delights
Spend the day checking out Quito's cultural sites starting with the Basilica of the National Vow and the Camilo Egas Art Museum. You'll also stop at Ónutcanchi Shop where you can taste Canelazo, a traditional hot drink. Wander around Plaza Grande, pop into the Church of the Company of Jesus with its elaborate interior, and try local empanadas and Ecuadorian chocolate while looking out over San Francisco Plaza.
