Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and head to your hotel. Staff will collect your passport to start the Tibet visa process. Later, there's a group meeting where you'll get briefed on what's ahead, plus you'll receive your down jacket and duffle bag. That evening, dinner is at a traditional Nepalese restaurant to kick things off.

- Day 2
Kathmandu
Start at Pashupatinath Temple to see Hindu rituals happening along the Bagmati River. From there, you'll walk to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world's largest, and spend time circling the prayer wheels. After lunch, head to Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with intricate Newari architecture and temples scattered throughout the plaza.

Kathmandu to Rasuwa Gadhi
After early breakfast, you'll drive through the Langtang region toward Rasuwa Gadhi at the Nepal-Tibet border. This 6-7 hour drive takes you through lush green hills, waterfalls, and terraced farmlands. You'll pass through villages like Trishuli Bazaar and Syabrubesi to see rural Nepalese life. As you approach Rasuwa Gadhi at 1,800m/5,905 ft, the terrain gets rougher with views of the Bhote Koshi River.

Landmarks Rasuwa Gadhi - Day 4
Rasuwa Gadhi to Kerung
Start with a short walk to the Nepalese immigration checkpoint, then handle Chinese immigration procedures. Once you clear both checkpoints, you'll officially cross the Nepal-Tibet border at Rasuwa Gadhi and meet your Tibetan guide and driver. You'll drive to Kerung at approximately 2,700m/8,858 ft. Around noon, take a leisurely walk in Kerung to acclimatize, with the rest of the day to yourself for relaxation.

Landmarks Kerung (Gyirong) - Day 5
Kerung to Saga
Have breakfast in Kerung, then drive 4-5 hours through the Tibetan Plateau to Saga. The route winds through rolling hills, valleys, and high-altitude passes reaching about 4,500m/14,764 ft. You'll cross several mountain passes with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and pristine rivers. Once you arrive in Saga, settle into your accommodation and rest for acclimatization.

Saga to Lake Manasarovar
After early breakfast, you'll drive 8-9 hours to Lake Manasarovar, one of the holiest lakes in the world. Cross the Mayum La Pass at 5,200m/17,060 ft with Himalayan views surrounding you. As you approach Lake Manasarovar at 4,590m/15,059 ft, Mount Kailash comes into view in the distance. When you arrive, many pilgrims take time to bathe or meditate on the lake's shores.

Lake Manasarovar to Darchen
Begin with a Havan Puja ceremony by Lake Manasarovar, an important spiritual ritual believed to purify the soul. After that, drive to Darchen at 4,575m/15,010 ft, the official gateway to Mount Kailash. You'll make a brief stop at Raksas Tal, a mysterious lake representing negative cosmic forces in Hindu tradition. Upon arrival in Darchen, check in and organize your luggage for the Parikrama trek, knowing two travelers will share one duffle bag for transport.

Landmarks Darchen Raksas Tal - Day 8
Darchen to Derapuk
Start the Mount Kailash Parikrama from Darchen. After breakfast, drive to Yam Dwar, the 'Gateway of the God of Death,' where pilgrims make prayers and offerings. Then trek about 12 km/7.5 miles over 5-6 hours to Derapuk, the first camping point. You'll walk through rugged terrain, lush valleys, and streams while viewing the north face of Mount Kailash up close.

Derapuk (Optional Charan Sparsh Hike)
For those wanting deeper spiritual connection, there's an optional day hike to Charan Sparsh, 'Touch of the Feet,' at the base of Mount Kailash's north face. This moderately challenging hike offers views of the sacred mountain and is believed to provide spiritual blessings. If you prefer to rest, stay at Derapuk and meditate in the surroundings with Mount Kailash as your backdrop.

Derapuk to Zutulphuk (via Dolma-La Pass)
This is the most challenging day of the Parikrama. Start very early with a steep ascent to Dolma-La Pass at 5,636m/18,488 ft, the highest point, requiring determination and stamina. At the top, you'll find Shiva-sthal where pilgrims leave personal offerings and pray for forgiveness. Shortly after, pass Gauri Kund, a sacred site for prayers, then descend steeply into Zutulphuk Valley and arrive at Zutulphuk Monastery at 4,835m/15,862 ft.

Finish the sacred circumambulation with a 3-hour walk from Zutulphuk Monastery to the pickup point. Your driving crew will meet you to mark the completion of the Kora. Then begin the drive back to Saga, giving you time to relax and think about the incredible experiences while enjoying Tibetan Plateau landscapes. You'll arrive in Saga by evening and check into your hotel.

Saga to Kerung
After breakfast, drive from Saga back to Kerung through Tibetan Plateau landscapes. The route offers panoramic views of majestic mountains, pristine valleys, and traditional Tibetan settlements. You'll have plenty of opportunities to take in Tibet's untouched beauty with vast plains and snow-capped peaks. Reflect on the spiritual significance and incredible experiences as you travel, arriving in Kerung by evening.

Kerung to Kathmandu
After breakfast, start your return to Kathmandu from Kerung, crossing the Tibetan-Nepal border at Rasuwagadhi in about 1-1.5 hours. Complete customs and immigration procedures to re-enter Nepal. Continue through Langtang National Park with its beautiful landscapes, lush valleys, waterfalls, and Himalayan foothills. You'll arrive in Kathmandu by late afternoon to rest at your hotel after the adventurous journey.

Departure from Kathmandu
