A great experience. Our guide Tashi was knowledgeable and friendly. Also our driver Dema was great. A very safe and smooth driver who was also lovely. It was a good balance of culture, and history. The 3 day nature trek provided some great nature experiences too. We saw lots of birds, some Yaks, a couple of Black necked cranes and a slightly startled Himalayan Black Bear! Accommodation was good, clean and comfortable. Local food is also good so be sure to ask for that instead of the westernised food (if that’s your thing). A beautiful country, with amazing scenery, and friendly people.
Wonders of Bhutan With 3-Day Gangtey Nature TrekI can't express how much we enjoyed our time with him and Peregrine Treks. Pasang, our guide, was simply fantastic; he looked after us so well, and we had much fun together. Transfers and all arrangements were handled properly, and we always felt like we were in good hands. I suggest this incredible vacation to everyone.
Short Everest Base Camp TrekThis is my second trip to Nepal; I previously completed the EBC, which was enjoyable. Nonetheless, the ABC provided breathtaking scenery daily! Every day brings new weather and new Fauna and Flora. My guide Layul (highly recommended) tweaked the itinerary to provide even more scenic waking-up views.

What our customers ask about Hiking & Trekking Tours & Trips in Asia
What is the best time of year for hiking in different regions of Asia?
Different regions of Asia have distinct prime hiking seasons. The Himalayan trails of Nepal work best from March to May or September to November when clear skies prevail. Northern Vietnam's Sapa region shines from September to November as rice terraces turn golden and temperatures stay moderate. Bhutan's hiking conditions peak during April-May and September-November offering clear mountain views. A TourRadar traveler notes: "The October weather was perfect with clear mountain views and comfortable temperatures for trekking through varied landscapes."
What accommodation options are available during multi-day hikes in Asia?
Asian hiking accommodations range from basic to upscale depending on the route. Nepal's Everest region features teahouses and mountain lodges with simple rooms and hot meals. The Trans Bhutan Trail combines local family homestays with established hotels such as the Amankora Thimphu. Sapa's trails offer traditional stilt house stays alongside modern properties like the Silk Path Grand Resort. As shared by a TourRadar traveler: "The mix of homestays and hotels in Sapa provided authentic cultural experiences while maintaining comfort during our trek."
What are the best hiking trails in Asia for different skill levels?
The continent's trails suit every hiking ability. Beginners can explore Nepal's Annapurna Foothills with gentle 4-5 hour daily walks. Mid-level hikers often choose the Annapurna Circuit featuring daily 6-7 hour treks through mountain villages. Expert hikers tackle the Everest Base Camp route climbing to 5364m with 6-8 hour daily hikes. A TourRadar participant reflects: "The trek was amazing and I would have liked another day - the free day in Pokhara was appreciated perhaps a little time in Kathmandu would be better."
How much does a typical hiking tour in Asia cost?
Tour costs reflect the length and location of each trek. An Everest Base Camp expedition runs about USD 1749 for 15 days while the Annapurna Circuit costs USD 1949 for 18 days. These prices typically cover lodging guides porters permits and select meals. One TourRadar guest notes: "The price level compared to other companies was higher but the team of guides and porters did a very competent and well-carried out job." Extra expenses include flights visas and personal items.
How challenging are the high-altitude treks in Asia?
The difficulty of high-altitude routes varies considerably. Everest Base Camp reaches 5545m requiring 6-7 daily hiking hours across 12-14 days with rest stops for adjustment. Annapurna Base Camp tops out at 4130m with moderate 5-6 hour daily walks. The Trans Bhutan Trail stays between 2500-3000m offering gentler terrain. According to a TourRadar participant: "The trek to Everest Base Camp was challenging but achievable with proper pacing and acclimatization days built into the itinerary."
What cultural experiences can I expect during hiking trips in Asia?
The trails connect visitors with local communities and traditions. Bhutan's routes pass ancient monasteries and seasonal festivals. Nepal's paths lead through Sherpa villages and Buddhist temples. Sapa treks include time with H'mong and Red Dao families in their homes. A TourRadar traveler reflects: "The homestay experience in Sapa gave us incredible insights into local traditions and daily life that we wouldn't have gotten otherwise."
