Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kasane to Gweta

    You'll arrive in Kasane and connect with your group of 35 to 45-year-olds before heading south to Gweta Lodge at the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. From there, you have the option to cruise the salt pans in open safari vehicles to search for a meerkat colony and take some interesting photos from a different perspective. The day winds down with sundowner drinks under the stars, then dinner and drinks back at the lodge.

  2. Day 2

    Gweta to Okavango Delta

    After leaving Gweta, you'll head toward the Okavango Delta, one of Africa's most unique natural landscapes. A game drive comes before settling into Contiki Safari Camp, which features pre-erected luxury two-person dome tents. Later, you'll gather around a campfire under the starswept sky to share stories and have dinner.

  3. Day 3

    Okavango Delta

    Early morning and afternoon game drives take you out searching for elephants, hippos, and predators across the delta. You'll return to camp for lunch and rest time during the heat of the day. An optional Mokoro boat trip lets you paddle along the delta's waterways if you're interested. That evening, there's a traditional campfire dinner followed by a night drive where spotlights help reveal nocturnal animals that are harder to spot during daylight.

  4. Day 4

    Okavango Delta to Windhoek

    The morning starts with coffee and breakfast at sunrise, then a final game drive through the Delta before you head out of this wildlife area. Later, you'll check into a lodge and have pool time to relax. If you want, there's an optional helicopter flight offering views of the delta's waterways and wildlife from above. Tonight takes you into town for a brewery tour, tasting, and dinner at Okavango Delta Brewery to mark your last evening in Botswana.

    Windhoek, Botswana to Windhoek, Namibia

    You'll cross the border from Botswana into Namibia, passing through savannah scenery along the way. Your original trip manager departs and a local Namibian trip manager joins for the rest of the journey. By evening, you'll arrive in Windhoek and head to Joe's Beerhouse for dinner, a cattle ranch style restaurant known for its Namibian game meat.

  6. Day 6

    Windhoek to Sossusvlei

    After breakfast, you'll drive through Namibia's desert scenery with cultural and historical stops along the route. Lunch happens near the Nauklauft Mountain Range at a vineyard in the middle of the desert, complete with wine tasting. You'll arrive at your lodge near Sossusvlei, a massive salt and clay pan surrounded by enormous dunes. There's a buffet dinner before tomorrow's early exploration.

    Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

    Starting early to beat the desert heat, you'll explore Namib-Naukluft National Park and spot Oryx and other desert wildlife. Then comes barefoot hiking along Big Daddy sand dune and down into Deadvlei with 360-degree views of iconic desert landscapes. Later, you'll travel to the coastal town of Swakopmund, check in at your hotel, and take a sunset stroll to try local food.

    A morning seal kayaking experience at Pelican Point gives you chances to spot dolphins, whales, seals, and other marine life. The afternoon is free time to explore Swakopmund's quaint German town, grab a beer at a Brauhaus, eat lunch on the pier, head to the dunes for adventure, or visit Mondesa Township for a tour and traditional dinner.

You'll learn some of their language and see their survival skills and crafts in the harsh desert environment. After that, you'll continue to accommodation near Etosha, a massive pan visible from space, and enjoy sundowners at the lodge as excitement builds for tomorrow's game drive.
