Itinerary
- Day 1
Amman
You'll arrive at Queen Alia International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Amman. After checking in, there's a welcome meeting scheduled for 6 pm. If your flight gets in early, you can head up to the Citadel for views across the city, check out the Jordan Museum where they keep the Dead Sea Scrolls, or walk around the Roman Theatre in the downtown area.

Amman to Wadi Rum
Following breakfast, you'll travel down the Desert Highway toward Wadi Rum, known as the Valley of the Moon. This landscape features towering sandstone mountains rising from an ochre desert. You'll meet your Bedouin hosts and have time for lunch. In the afternoon, local guides take you out in 4x4 jeeps to see the rock formations scattered across the desert. You'll spend the night at a Bedouin camp under the stars.

Wadi Rum to Aqaba
Watch the sunrise from your desert camp this morning, then explore a few more Wadi Rum spots if you've got the energy. Mid-morning you'll head for Aqaba on the Red Sea coast. Once at your hotel, your leader gives a brief orientation walk. You can visit the small 14th-century Ottoman Mamluk Fort or head straight to the beach. The waters here work well for snorkeling where you'll see clownfish, angelfish, sea turtles and corals.

- Day 4
Aqaba to Petra
You'll have some free time in Aqaba this morning before traveling to Petra. This ancient city dates back to the 6th century BC and was carved directly into rock. It's considered one of the world's most significant ancient sites and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, though it stayed unknown to the wider world until 1812. After settling into your hotel and walking around the village, you'll have a group dinner.

- Day 5
Petra
Your guide leads you through Petra starting with the iconic Treasury facade, which you'll see through the Siq, a narrow cleft sometimes just a few meters wide with 180-meter-high rock walls on either side. You'll see the old Roman road, amphitheatre and several tombs before having free time to explore on your own. Climbing to the Monastery carved into a mountain summit gives you great views. Tonight, locals invite you to their home for dinner with traditional maqluba, a rice casserole with vegetables and chicken served with yogurt or Arab salad with tahina sauce.

- Day 6
Petra to Amman
After breakfast, you'll drive to the ancient Shobak Crusader castle where your leader shows you the grounds, chapel and original gatehouse. Built to protect the Latin Kingdom's eastern flank and trade routes, Saladin took it in 1189. You'll stop at a viewpoint overlooking Dana Nature Reserve before arriving in Madaba to visit the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George and see an ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land. You'll return to Amman later in the afternoon.

- Day 7
Amman to Jerash to Dead Sea
You'll head north to Jerash, which was once one of the world's grandest ancient Roman cities and now has some of the best Greco-Roman ruins including archways, theatres, baths, public buildings and colonnaded streets. After exploring, you'll drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth at 420 meters below sea level. The water is so salty you'll float instead of swim. The mineral-rich mud supposedly has healing properties, so you can cover yourself from head to toe for a mud bath. You'll return to Amman for the evening.
