- Day 1
Lusaka to Busanga Plains
Your pickup happens at 5:30 AM from StayEasy Lusaka hotel, then you'll board a vehicle for roughly 7 to 8 hours heading west on the Lusaka-Mongu road. During the drive, you'll have morning breakfast in transit with breaks along the way to stretch. You'll arrive at Busanga Plains in the afternoon, check into your accommodation, and have the evening free to either rest or walk around the area and get your bearings.

Landmarks Busanga Plains Kafue National Park - Day 2
Busanga Plains
Wake early and head out for a sunrise game drive to catch wildlife when they're most active, including predators and prey as the plains wake up. Back at camp by mid-morning, you'll have a substantial bush breakfast. Midday you can relax at your accommodation, then in the afternoon you're out again for another game drive exploring different sections. You'll look for elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and various antelope. End the day with a sundowner experience in the bush before returning to camp for dinner under the stars.

Landmarks Busanga Plains - Day 3
Busanga Plains to Itezhi Tezhi
After breakfast at 6:00 to 6:30 AM at Bongololo Campsite, you'll head south through the Chunga Area Management on the Spinal Road, traveling with the Kafue River and Lake Itezhi Tezhi alongside you. This roughly 172 km drive gives you chances to spot elephant herds and antelope at the riverbanks. You'll exit Kafue National Park through Musa Gate and reach Itezhi Tezhi town, checking into a lodge in the Uphill area. Dinner at the lodge and an evening at the bar let you settle in before sleep.

Itezhi Tezhi
You're up at 7:30 AM for breakfast at your lodge in Itezhi Tezhi. By 8:30 AM you're heading into the Ngoma Game Management Area for a driving adventure with wildlife spotting and frequent stops at good viewing spots. There's an optional visit to the Elephant Orphanage Center to see the David Sheppard Foundation's conservation work, or if it's closed you can continue with more game viewing instead. Lunch happens at the orphanage or on the road. Later, explore the Nkala and Ngoma areas along the Kafue River. You'll return to the lodge to rest, then drive to Iyanda Village to visit the Longola Hot Springs before heading back for dinner.

Itezhi Tezhi to Livingstone
Start with breakfast from 7:00 to 7:30 AM at your lodge in Itezhi Tezhi, then check out and begin heading toward Livingstone. Travel on the Spinal Gravel Road alongside Lake Itezhi Tezhi, watching for wildlife near the Kafue River. You'll make loops for wildlife viewing and photography, then join the Dudumwezi Road heading toward Kalomo. After exiting through Dundumwezi Gate, you'll reach Kalomo around 2:50 PM for a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant. Continuing on the Livingstone T-1 Road, you should arrive in Livingstone by 4:30 PM and check into your lodge.

- Day 6
Livingstone to Chobe National Park, Botswana
You'll be picked up at 6:55 AM for the 88 km drive to Kazungula border post, arriving by 7:45 AM for border formalities into Botswana. After immigration, your Botswana guide will transfer you 22 km to Chobe National Park entrance. Game drive starts at 10:00 AM in an open safari vehicle where you'll see large elephant populations, lions, leopards, wild dogs, buffalo, antelope, and birds. Buffet lunch happens at 12:30 PM in Kasane. At 2:30 PM you'll board a speedboat on the Chobe River to see elephants swimming, crocodiles, hippos, water buffalo, and bird life with refreshments included. The boat returns at 4:00 PM, then you'll cross back into Zambia at 4:40 PM and reach Livingstone by 6:00 PM for dinner at your lodge and optional evening activities.

- Day 7
Livingstone
Breakfast runs from 7:00 to 7:10 AM at your lodge, with departure at 7:20 AM for the short drive to Victoria Falls. From 7:30 to 9:30 AM you'll have a guided tour of the massive waterfall known as Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders), viewing from various points and experiencing the mist and rainbows. You'll be back in Livingstone by noon to visit the Livingstone Museum and learn about David Livingstone's travels and Zambia's cultural heritage. Lunch at 2:00 PM at a restaurant or your lodge comes before resting at your accommodation from 3:00 PM. At 4:00 PM you'll head to Mukuni Village for a cultural experience with the Leya people, interact with locals, and browse handcrafted goods. Back for dinner at 6:00 PM and sleep by 9:00 PM.

Livingstone to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe
Breakfast at 7:30 AM at your lodge in Livingstone precedes a morning game drive and rhino walk safari from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park using an open 4x4 vehicle with a professional guide. You'll encounter three of the Big Five including endangered white rhinos, plus giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and many bird species. You'll visit the historic Old Drift Crossing Point and Cemetery before exiting at 11:00 AM. Lunch at your lodge runs from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. After lunch you'll start a scenic 200 km drive toward Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, passing through Victoria Falls town. You'll arrive at Forgee's Guest Lodge in Hwange by 4:00 PM, check in, relax, and explore. Dinner at 6:00 PM comes before sleep by 8:00 PM.

At 6:30 AM you'll wake to nature sounds at Forgee's Guest Lodge and have hearty breakfast at 7:00 AM with fresh fruit, pastries, and local specialties. By 7:30 AM you're departing in an open safari vehicle with your English-speaking guide for a full day in Hwange National Park. The morning drive takes you deep into Zimbabwe's largest wildlife sanctuary for the Big Five, giraffes, zebras, antelope, and over 400 bird species. Bush lunch at 12:30 PM happens in a shaded picnic area surrounded by nature. The afternoon game drive explores different areas, visits waterholes where large elephant herds gather, and searches for lions and hyenas. You'll return to the lodge at 5:00 PM for a sumptuous dinner at 6:30 PM, then experience traditional dancing by a local troupe at 7:30 PM showcasing Zimbabwean culture, with guests welcome to join.

Hwange National Park to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
You'll wake as the morning sun rises over Forgee's Guest House and prepare to leave Hwange National Park. Travel back toward Victoria Falls town on a scenic route through rural Zimbabwe with views of local life and landscapes. Before crossing into Zambia, explore the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls from a new perspective, feel the power and mist, enjoy rainbows, and take photos. An optional lunch at the Lookout Cafe at your own expense sits on the edge of the Batoka Gorge with views of the gorge and Zambezi River, featuring expertly prepared dishes and refreshing drinks. After lunch, cross the Victoria Falls Bridge into Zambia and head toward Livingstone for lodge check-in. At your own expense, optionally explore Livingstone's nightlife or rest and reflect on your safari.

Your final morning in Livingstone brings bittersweet feelings as you enjoy breakfast at your lodge and reflect on your 11-day safari. You'll transfer from your lodge to Livingstone International Airport and say goodbye to the African wilderness and fellow travelers. As you drive to the airport, passing scenery echoes with wildlife memories. You'll board your flight to your next destination or home.
