Itinerary
- Day 1
Athens
Start your trip in Athens with the day completely to yourself. Your hotel is right in the middle of the city, which means you can easily wander through neighborhoods like Plaka, Monastiraki, and Thisio without rushing. The Acropolis is there if you want to see it, and the Acropolis Museum is worth checking out if museums interest you. The National Gardens offer a nice spot to walk around, and if you're up for something with a view, climbing Philopappou Hill gives you a good look at the city. Around 5:30 or 6:00 in the evening, you'll meet your guide and the rest of the group for a welcome briefing and an orientation walk to get your bearings.

Athens to Nafplio
After breakfast, you're heading to the Peloponnese. First stop is the Corinth Canal, which you'll pass through quickly (takes about 15 minutes). From there, you'll go to Mycenae for a guided tour of the ancient site, then drive to Nemea where a local winery gives you a tour and wine tasting with a light meal in their cellars. By afternoon you'll arrive in Nafplio and check in. Later on, you'll do a relaxed 2.5-hour walk along the coast from town center toward Arvanitia and Karathona beaches, with nice sea views the whole way.

- Day 3
Nafplio
This morning starts with a 3.5-hour coastal hike through Epidauria Land. You'll begin at Old Epidaurus port and walk through pine forest to reach Polemarcha Monastery and a beach where you can swim and rest. After that, you have free time to grab lunch before heading to a family-run olive oil farm to see how they make olive oil and taste some of theirs. In the afternoon, a guide takes you through the Ancient Epidaurus site, showing you the Sanctuary of Asclepius and the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. You'll be back in Nafplio by 5:00 PM with your evening open to relax and check out the town.

- Day 4
Nafplio to Gythio
After breakfast, you're driving to Mystras for a substantial 4.5 to 5 hour hike on Mt. Taygetos starting from Agios Ioannis village. Along the way you'll visit the cave monastery Panagia Zagouna and Faneromenis Monastery, then descend through the Lagkadiotissa gorge with its waterfalls, finishing in Parori village. Once you've rested, you'll visit the Byzantine castle city of Mystras built on the mountainside, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then you're driving to Gythio where you'll spend the next two nights.

- Day 5
Gythio
Today takes you through the Mani peninsula starting at Cape Tenaron, the southernmost point on mainland Greece. You'll hike to a lighthouse with views of rocky beaches nearby and see the Temple of Poseidon and a Roman mosaic, plus there's swimming if it's summer. Next is the village of Vathia known for its tower-houses, then you'll explore the Cave of Diros both on foot and by boat. Stop at Areopoli with its medieval towers and narrow stone alleys, then finish at Limeni seaside village for a swim in turquoise water (summer months). You'll return to Gythio with the evening to yourself.

Gythio to Dimitsana
You're leaving Mani and heading toward Mount Menalon in the Peloponnese interior. The morning includes a rafting adventure on one of Greece's better rafting rivers near Karitena, which takes about 4 hours total with about 2 hours in the water. After that excitement, you'll drive to Dimitsana, a village sitting at 1,000 meters altitude that played an important role in Greece's 1821 War of Independence. Check into your hotel and visit the Waterpower Museum to learn how traditional societies used water power. Later, walk through the village's narrow paved streets where you get great views over the Lousios gorge.

- Day 7
Dimitsana to Athens
After breakfast, you're hiking through the Lousios gorge starting from the new Philosophou monastery and walking to the Old Philosophou monastery, which housed the Secret School during the Turkish occupation. You'll reach Prodromou monastery where monks usually provide coffee and light snacks, then continue on to Ancient Gortys and the Temple of Asclepius. Lunch happens in the village of Stemnitsa. In the afternoon, you're driving back to Athens (about 3 hours with stops), checking into your city center hotel, and having a farewell dinner at a local tavern.
