Itinerary
- Day 1
Rio de Janeiro
You'll land in Rio de Janeiro and get picked up at the airport, then head to your hotel to settle in. The afternoon and evening are open, so you can walk down to the beaches at Ipanema, Leblon, or Copacabana whenever you're ready. Stop by beachside vendors for fresh juice and hang around to watch the sunset. For dinner, try feijoada carioca with a caipirinha or local beer at one of the restaurants along the promenade, and if you're up for it, check out some local samba bars afterward.

Rio de Janeiro
You have the full day to spend in Rio however you'd like. If you want to see the major sights, Corcovado or Sugar Loaf Mountain are both popular options. Or you can skip the landmarks and just relax on the beaches at Copacabana or Ipanema instead. It's your call depending on what you're in the mood for.

- Day 3
Rio de Janeiro to Paraty
A shuttle picks you up and takes you from Rio de Janeiro south to Paraty along the Costa Verde coastline, which takes a few hours. Along the way you'll see jungle-covered mountains, waterfalls, and golden beaches. Once you get to Paraty and check into your accommodation, wander around the cobblestone streets and see the whitewashed colonial buildings. Later in the evening, find a local restaurant and have some fresh seafood under the stars.

Landmarks Paraty 
- Day 4
Paraty
You have a free day in Paraty to relax and do what interests you. Head out to nearby distilleries if you want to learn how cachaca is made, or just walk around the historical center and check out the artisan cachaca shops to sample different varieties. You can move at your own pace through town.

Landmarks Paraty 
- Day 5
Paraty to Ilha Grande
A shuttle takes you from Paraty south to Angra dos Reis (about 3 hours), and then you board a ferry to Ilha Grande. The ferry ride lasts roughly 1 hour 30 minutes, and you'll see mountains, jungle, cliffs, islands, and the Atlantic Ocean along the way. Once you arrive at Vila do Abraão on the island, explore the main village with its small church and palm trees. Since there are no cars on the island, you'll walk to your accommodation. Spend the afternoon checking out nearby beaches like Praia Abraãozinho and Praia Crena.

Ilha Grande
You have a free day to wander the trails and beaches of Ilha Grande. Hike through Atlantic rainforest trails where you might see monkeys, butterflies, and exotic birds, with viewpoints and secluded waterfalls along the way. The island has an interesting history as a former leper colony and prison. Lopes Mendes Beach is one option for a hike and is regarded as one of Brazil's best beaches if you're interested in that day trip.

Take the boat back to Angra dos Reis, then a group shuttle will bring you to the airport in Rio de Janeiro for your departure flight.
