- Day 1
Rome
You'll arrive in Rome and get transferred to your hotel where your guide meets you with important details about the trip. Later that evening, head out to Via Cavour where you can walk around and pick from various restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese, and other international food.

- Day 2
Rome
Start with a three-hour guided tour that combines walking through Imperial Rome and a bus ride to see major spots like the Arch of Constantine, Colosseum exterior, Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant'Angelo. By 11:00 a.m. you'll reach Vatican City where you can optionally visit the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel if you want. In the evening, get transferred to Trastevere for dinner, then head back to your hotel around 8:30 p.m.

- Day 3
Rome - Pisa - Sestri Levante - Nice
Leave Rome heading north toward Pisa, where you'll take a short train ride to Piazza dei Miracoli to see the Leaning Tower (lunch is included). After that, continue through Mediterranean landscapes with a quick stop in Sestri Levante, a small seaside town, then arrive in Nice on the French Riviera in the late afternoon.

After breakfast, take a brief panoramic coach tour around Nice driving along the Promenade des Anglais, through Massena Square, and check out the old port. Next head to Sainte-Maxime to walk through its historic center and 16th-century port area. Then board a scenic boat crossing the bay to Saint-Tropez where you can explore the old fishing port and have lunch. Afterward continue to Marseille to see the lively Vieux Port area in France's second-largest city.

Explore several Provence highlights today. In Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage city, see Roman and medieval sites plus Van Gogh connections. Next visit Les Baux, a small medieval village, and check out the Carrières de Lumières with its underground art and light show in old quarries. Have lunch and walk around Avignon where the massive Palais des Papes sits. Later reach Lyon to walk through the World Heritage old town and take a cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourvière basilica for views over the city.

Head from Lyon into Burgundy, starting at Tournus with its stone gate and large abbey. Continue to Beaune where you'll have time for lunch and can explore the wine capital, with options to visit the wine museum or historic hospice. Then visit Savigny Castle, a 15th-century structure housing collections of motorbikes, racing cars, planes, and helicopters. Finish by reaching Dijon, Burgundy's capital, known for lively streets and medieval and Renaissance buildings including the Palace of the Dukes.

Leave Dijon for Fontenay Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where admission is included at this Cistercian monastery. Stop in Semur-en-Auxois next, a medieval city surrounded by old walls. After lunch and a walk through Vézelay, one of France's more beautiful villages with its huge basilica (a starting point for the Way of St. James), continue toward Paris arriving in the evening.
