Our Japan Adventure 17 day includes the absolute best of Japan, plus some off the beaten path experiences, amazing accommodation, an instant group of friends and an awesome group leader to take care of everything. All transport while on the trip is included, along with your accommodation, activities, and some meals. Do you have any option to book a single room instead of a shared one? And another one about my nationality, is it fine for you if I'm Russian?

    Operator
    Single supplement
    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

We welcome travellers of all nationalities and backgrounds. We love that our groups are so diverse, it's what makes our trips so exciting and unique!

You will need to organise your own visa to travel to Japan. Depending on your nationality you may have different requirements for the application.

We can certainly look into the possibility of a private room for you if you prefer. However Group Members are in their rooms for a very limited time throughout the trip, as there are activities most days and things planned most evenings.

Please note, it isn't possible to have a private room in Hakone, and we would strongly recommend not having a private room for the 2 nights in Nagano and the 1 night in Koyasan as the traditional Ryokan and Buddhist temple shared is very much part of the experience!

      TravelerWritten March 2026

I would have a really long flight from Europe and would struggle with jet lag. So I prefer to have addictional day for rest before the tour. Is it possible to book one more day in Tokyo?

    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

A private room (excluding Hakone, Nagano and Koyasan) would be an additional 1300 EUR.

We can absolutely also look at a pre-night for you in the starting hostel which would be an additional 105 EUR.

    Asked on March 3rd, 2026

Is September 4, 2026 tour a guaranteed departure? For the optional tours, can they be paid with a credit card?

    Payments
    Price / Availability
    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

Our Japan Adventure tour beginning on September 4th 2026 already has 9 people booked on, and it is guaranteed to run.

All your activities, accommodation, transport and some of your meals are included, so you won't need to spend too much money. It's best to take a Visa, MasterCard debit, credit card, or a travel money card with you. As well as a backup PIN-protected card to keep elsewhere (e.g. with your passport) in case you lose the primary one. There are ATM's and money exchanges available throughout Japan so it's easy to get access to cash meaning there is no need to carry large amounts around with you. We recommend using a bank card local to your home country that has low or no transaction fees. In Japan, many smaller businesses still use cash only, so it's a good idea to have a little bit with you for your arrival.

      TravelerWritten March 2026

Why is travel insurance required? Can I still book trip without insurance?
Can I make arrangements for airport transfer upon arrival and for departure?
Would it be possible to get an estimate on cost for two additional nights in Tokyo before start of tour and 2 additional nights in Osaka after tour ends?

    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. While you don't need to have your insurance organised in order to make your booking, you will need to have a policy in place before you travel. Travel insurance is compulsory to ensure all group members are protected against unexpected events - such as medical emergencies, cancellations, or travel disruptions. It doesn't matter which provider you choose to use, as long as you're covered for the full duration of your Japan tour, and all included activities.

There is no airport transfer included for this tour because public transport is the most cost-effective and efficient way to travel in Tokyo. Once you've booked on, we'll send you a link to download our INTRO Travel app, which has detailed instructions (with photo references) on how to get from any of the Tokyo Airports, to the hostel where the group stays.

If you're arriving a couple of days before the tour commences we can organise 2 extra nights at the group accommodation for you. We do not organise post-tour accommodation in advance, but your Group Leader can assist with organising all elements of your onwards travel during your trip. In addition to extra accommodation and activities, they will also help book your return travel back to the airport and will ensure you're comfortable with all elements of the journey.

    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

Please find a quote for pre-nights below:

      Private room: $120 per night
      Dorm room: $60 per night

Once you have locked in your flights, we can organise any pre-tour accommodation you require.

I noticed you have the what looks to be the same tour listed on Tour Hub for $3,844 usd. Are they the same exact tour with same amenities? If I booked through Tour Hub, would I be paired with same group for the June 3 travel?

    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten March 2026

Yes, Tourhub is one of our agents that sells our tours as well, so it would be the exact same trip. If you book the 3rd June start date, you'll still be part of the same group :)

    Asked on February 24th, 2026

For this 17 day Japan tour would you be able to pair me with another female traveling solo?

    Group size
    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten February 2026

The majority of our group members are solo travellers, so you'll all be in a similar situation. For any twin-share accommodation, you'll be roomed with another solo female traveller of a similar age. For multi-share accommodation, you'll be sharing with another 3 travellers of your INTRO crew (4 travellers per room).

I noticed a a few days it says "small change" in the itinerary. Is that small change replacing some of the orginally scheduled activities?

    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten February 2026

'Small Change' simply refers to our socially conscious Initiative, called Small Change. We make sure that every trip we run has a direct and positive impact on the local communities we visit. We've built great relationships with local operators who we work closely with to deliver amazing experiences that benefit them, their families, and their communities.

      TravelerWritten February 2026

Finding flights see.s to be my biggest challenge. I tend to be very cautious and trying to plan everything before committing. If you have any suggestions about booking flights to and from Japan, please feel free to share.

    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten February 2026

We don't have any specific recommendations for airlines but Miami is actually pretty well connected so you have plenty of options with reputable airlines like Delta, Air Canada and Japan Airlines. I recommend weighing up the ticket prices against the travel duration and making your decision that way.

Flying into Japan: The first planned activity is your welcome dinner at 7pm on Day 1 of the tour. We recommend arriving before then if possible, but no worries, if not. If you'd like some extra time in Tokyo you could arrive a day or 2 earlier and we can organise any extra nights you require at the starting accommodation. There are 2 airports in Tokyo and both are convenient for this tour, so you can land into either Narita airport or Haneda airport.

Flying out of Japan: The tour ends on day 17 in Osaka, and there are no planned activities on this day so you can leave at any time. The closest airport is Osaka (Kansai) Airport, which takes approx. 1 hour by train to get to from Osaka. If you plan to leave straight after the trip we'd recommend flying out of Osaka (so fly into Tokyo and out of Osaka if possible, for this tour). If you're flying out of Tokyo and need to return to Tokyo straight after the trip it will take approx. 4 hours by bullet train. Your Group Leader can organise this for you in Japan and you can pay locally for it. Once you are back in Tokyo, you will then need to get another train to either Narita or Haneda airport. We recommend booking a flight no earlier than 4:00pm on the last day of your tour if you are flying from Tokyo.

There's no luggage restrictions we enforce but you will be moving between locations frequently and taking multiple trains on this itinerary. We therefore recommend packing light - 10–20kg should be plenty. Plus, there will be places along the way where you can do laundry, so you won't need to overpack!

All the amazing activities and experiences, awesome accommodation, transport and some meals are included. If there's anything additional that you'd like to do during any free-time, we can organise that for you and you'll pay locally.

While in Tokyo, will gokart be offered as an activity/excursion?

We do not include the Karting as part of our itinerary. However, this is something that you can always look in to doing during your free time. The Karting experiences around Tokyo are super fun but definitely best booked in advance to avoid disappointment. I would recommend the best time would be on Day 1 (or a day or two before/after the tour) if you're arriving early as there isn't quite enough time in free time to do this on the tour. It could also be possible on Day 3 after Sushi class (2pm onwards). It is just important to read the booking conditions and t&c's before signing up to anything to do with the Mario Kart experiences. Participants need to take their driving license but will also need an international driving license from their country (each country has different rules), otherwise you might get there and not be able to take part!

I do have a US DL, but not an international DL. It would be separate rooms for Male/Female.

    • INTRO TravelOperatorWritten January 2026

The majority of this trip is spent in quad-share rooms, and these are mixed gender. We do also use a couple of twin-share rooms during the tour, and so we can request that you are both roomed with other group members of the same gender for these nights. Please just let us know once you've made your booking and we can note your request on your accounts.

The group currently has a small but growing mix of travellers, mostly in their mid-20s to mid-30s, with one or two in their early 20s. There's a balanced mix of male and female travellers, with a few spots still available.

How far is the hotel to the airport, I would need to leave early hours on the morning to get to the airport. How would I get there?

The closest airport is Osaka (Kansai) Airport, which takes approx. 1 hour by train to get to from Osaka. If you plan to leave straight after the trip we'd recommend flying out of Osaka. The trains and public transport do start in the early hours so you should be fine for your 9:30am flight!

The majority of people on our tours are aged 18 to 40, but we regularly have people in their 40's travel with us and have an incredible time! But as long as you have an appetite for adventure and are happy bonding with people of all backgrounds, you'll fit in perfectly!
