  While in Tokyo, will gokart be offered as an activity/excursion?

    We do not include the Karting as part of our itinerary. However, this is something that you can always look in to doing during your free time. The Karting experiences around Tokyo are super fun but definitely best booked in advance to avoid disappointment. I would recommend the best time would be on Day 1 (or a day or two before/after the tour) if you're arriving early as there isn't quite enough time in free time to do this on the tour. It could also be possible on Day 3 after Sushi class (2pm onwards). It is just important to read the booking conditions and t&c's before signing up to anything to do with the Mario Kart experiences. Participants need to take their driving license but will also need an international driving license from their country (each country has different rules), otherwise you might get there and not be able to take part!

    I do have a US DL, but not an international DL. It would be separate rooms for Male/Female.

    The majority of this trip is spent in quad-share rooms, and these are mixed gender. We do also use a couple of twin-share rooms during the tour, and so we can request that you are both roomed with other group members of the same gender for these nights. Please just let us know once you've made your booking and we can note your request on your accounts.

    The majority of travellers are in their 20's & 30's. We currently have 10 bookings (7 female & 3 male), and most are solo travelers.

  Could you confirm the age range of those booked on the 17 day Japan adventure, starting 21st March 2026, more specifically are there other solo males on this trip etc as much info as possible regarding numbers booked on, ages, gender would really help

    We have 8 people booked onto the 21st March group so far, and 3 of those are solo male travellers. The group is made up of 50% females, and 50% males and most of those are solo travellers too so you'll fit in perfectly. So far everyone booked is aged from mid 20s up to mid 30s.

    How far is the hotel to the airport, I would need to leave early hours on the morning to get to the airport. How would I get there?

    The closest airport is Osaka (Kansai) Airport, which takes approx. 1 hour by train to get to from Osaka. If you plan to leave straight after the trip we'd recommend flying out of Osaka. The trains and public transport do start in the early hours so you should be fine for your 9:30am flight!

    The majority of people on our tours are aged 18 to 40, but we regularly have people in their 40's travel with us and have an incredible time! But as long as you have an appetite for adventure and are happy bonding with people of all backgrounds, you'll fit in perfectly!

    Right now, our departures are available through 2026. If you're looking at 2027, those dates haven't been released yet. The good news is we'll be launching our 2027 schedule closer to next year. In the meantime, you're welcome to secure a spot on an open dated departure if you'd like to lock it in your space and price.

  Are the onsens in this tour ok with tattoos? Or can I wear a shirt so that I can experience them

    All the onsens we visit are absolutely fine with tattoos, and I'm sure you won't be the only one! Shirts, on the other hand, are not allowed - it's a hygiene thing!

    As far as booking flights, should I be looking for flights that land on Day 1, or the day before? Which airport, Narita or Haneda is more convenient to the location that I will be staying at for the tour? And for my return flight from Osaka, if I book it on Day 17, sometime in the afternoon as it takes an hour from where I will be staying to the airport, will that be ok, or should I expect it to be very busy?

    Both airports are convenient, with Haneda taking approximated 60 mins to get to via public transport and Narita taking 70 mins. I would simply base your decision on the best flights you can find for your route. On day 1 of your trip, there are no planned activities, so you can choose to arrive at any time. The group meets around 7pm for a welcome dinner, so we recommend arriving in the morning or afternoon if possible.

    All your activities, accommodation, transport and some of your meals are included, so you won't need to budget too much for spending money...but this obviously depends on how much shopping you're going to do and how many beers or cocktails you want to enjoy!! Regarding airport transfers, Japan is one of the few places we don't provide these and that's because the public transport system is so fantastic, fast and easy. The train from the airport to the hotel costs between ¥1300-¥2600 and we have detailed instructions and photos on our App to help you navigate there.

  I was wondering about the quad share hostels. My best friend and I (both female) were wondering if we can prefer an all female room? We would prefer not to share a room with any males. Are there any other tours you guys offer like this one but instead of quad share hostels the accommodations are hotel rooms?

    We would do our best to accommodate your request of an all female dorm, however we cannot guarantee this as it will depend on the make up of the group. If you are not comfortable sharing with others we can look into the possibility of a private room for you both to share. However Group Members are in their rooms for a very limited time throughout the trip, as there are activities most days and things planned most evenings. For a private room it would come with an extra cost, and it is not available during cherry blossom season. It also isn't possible to have a private room in Hakone. And we would strongly recommend not having a private room for the 2 nights in Nagano and the 1 night in Koyasan as the traditional Ryokan and Buddhist temple shared is very much part of the experience!

  Am 68 years old but very athletic and healthy. No problem thank God hiking or running or doing any physical activity @ all. Will I be allowed to join in this tour?

    You definitely sound fit enough (fitter than most 20 something year olds for sure!!) but the majority of our group members are in their 20's and 30's, so unfortunately our tours wouldn't be suitable for you. Sorry about that!
