Because conditions vary, your captain and team plan each day based on ice and weather, using 18 to 20 hours of daylight. Or you could visit Deception Island in the South Shetland Islands, one of the few places where ships can sail straight into a submerged volcano caldera. The Eclipse can navigate through a narrow rocky gap into the horseshoe harbor. Hundreds of thousands of chinstrap penguins live here alongside a few research stations. Tonight you might have sushi with new friends, stay up in the bar, or retreat to the library for quiet time.

You might also spot whales like minkes, humpbacks, or orcas from the yacht, a Zodiac, a kayak, or standing on a paddleboard. Ask your discovery leader for photography tips and help spotting wildlife during your excursions around ice formations.

If the Eclipse navigates this 11-kilometer channel just 700 meters wide at its narrowest, set your alarm to catch it from the observation terrace. You'll see dramatic rocky mountains and glowing blue icebergs extremely close to the ship. Between excursions, enjoy specialty tea or coffee in the observation lounge while watching the landscape through Swarovski telescopes.

The crew sets up the marina while excitement builds and nervous laughter spreads through the yacht. Standing at the edge before jumping feels eternal, but the rush is invigorating and oddly refreshing. If swimming isn't for you, watch from a good spot and join the group for hot chocolate or whiskey afterward.

In the evening, settle into the lounge bar with aged whiskey, wine, or champagne from the premium list. Everything's included, so you can explore the top-shelf options.
