Colombo to Negombo
You'll be met at the airport and driven to Negombo, where you have the afternoon free to settle in and get a feel for Sri Lanka. The rest of the day is yours to wander around at your own pace. You're staying at Jetwing Beach for the night.

- Day 2
Negombo to Dambulla
After breakfast, you'll head to Polonnaruwa, the early medieval royal capital that flourished between the 11th and 13th centuries. There are many historical sites to walk through from that period. Later you'll drive to Dambulla for your overnight stay.

- Day 3
Dambulla to Kandy
Early morning means climbing up to Sigiriya, the rock fortress built 150 metres high by King Kassapa. The views from the palace across the surrounding landscape are really something. After that, you'll head to Kandy, one of the most beautiful Sinhalese royal cities, where you'll stay for two nights.

- Day 4
Kandy
You'll have breakfast, then visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. There are over 5,000 different tree and plant species spread across the grounds. Later in the day, you'll return to Kandy for a guided walk through the city and a visit to the Temple of the Tooth, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that holds a sacred tooth of Buddha.

Kandy to Bandarawela
The drive into Sri Lanka's highlands takes you through varied landscapes with lots of different plants and animals, plus tea plantations. You'll stop at a traditional tea factory to see how tea is grown and processed. Then you'll walk around Nuwara Eliya before moving on to Bandarawela, a green city known for its flowers and roses.

Bandarawela to Colombo
You'll leave before dawn heading to Horton Plains for a hike to 'World's End' at over 2,130 metres, Sri Lanka's highest plateau. The timing helps you avoid fog so you can see the escarpment drop dramatically 300 metres straight down, then another 1,200 metres further. On clear mornings you can see the Indian Ocean about 80 km away. After the hike, you'll transfer to Colombo airport, arriving around 6 pm.
