Accra
You'll arrive in Accra and head straight to your hotel from the airport. This gives you time to settle in and get oriented before your activities begin tomorrow.

Volta Region
This morning you're heading out with a local guide to Mount Afadja in the Volta Region. The trek to Ghana's highest peak at 885 meters takes about 1 to 2 hours, and from the top you'll see green forests spreading out below and small villages scattered across the landscape. It's a solid day of hiking with views that make the effort worthwhile.

Wli Waterfalls
After breakfast you'll visit Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary where a guide walks you through the forest to spot Mona and Patas monkeys. You can feed them and learn what local conservation work looks like from the Ewe people who live there. Later on, after lunch on your own, you'll hike into Agumatsa Wildlife Sanctuary and reach Lower Wli Waterfalls, a 60-meter drop into pools where you can swim and cool off.

Ghana to Lome
You'll check out after breakfast and travel toward Togo, stopping at Cascade de Womé waterfall along the way to see the water tumbling through tropical forest. The drive continues into Lome where you'll check in for the next phase of your trip.

Lome
Today is a break day. After breakfast you can relax at your hotel, take it easy, and recharge before moving on to activities in the following days. It's a good chance to rest after the hiking and travel.

Lome City Tour
You'll get a city tour of Lome starting with the National Museum, then see the Place of Independence monument and walk through the Grand Market and Fetish Market to get a sense of local commerce and culture. After lunch on your own, you'll head to Togoville beach resort on Lake Togo for a lake cruise to visit a 17th century Catholic Cathedral and five main voodoo shrines located on an island.

Ouidah to Cotonou
After breakfast you'll travel to Ouidah, considered the birthplace of African Traditional Religion. There you'll visit the sacred Python Temple and walk through the sacred forest with its shrines to various deities. From there you'll see the Port of No Return monument that marks the historical significance of the slave trade, and then drive north to Cotonou to settle into your hotel.

Ganvie
You're visiting Ganvie, a 300-year-old village built entirely on water and sometimes called the Venice of West Africa. You'll see how daily life happens in dugout canoes, explore the floating market, and take a canoe ride through the waterways. After lunch on your own, you'll drive through Cotonou to see its collection of colorful statues and monuments scattered around the city.

Port Novo
This morning brings a scenic drive through Port Novo and then to La Rivière Noire d'Adjarra, known for its biodiversity and historical importance. You'll take a raft or boat ride on the river, see the large trees where locals extract palm wine (and you can taste it if interested), and observe fishing methods that keep the river ecosystem healthy.
