- Day 1
Cabo San Lucas
You'll pick up your rental car at the airport and drive to Cabo San Lucas. The city's got a nice marina and sandy beaches right at the southern tip of Baja California. Los Arcos rock formation is there too if you want to see it from shore, or you can book an optional boat trip to get closer and spot some marine life.

- Day 2
Todos Santos - Ciudad Constitución
Head along the Pacific coast to Playa Los Cerritos, a quiet 8 km beach where you can relax, hike, or watch surfers doing their thing. After that, continue to Todos Santos on the Tropic of Cancer and walk through its colonial streets, checking out art galleries and craft workshops. You'll finish the day in Ciudad Constitución.

Loreto
Stop at López Mateos to see gray whales in their natural habitat. There's a boat trip you can book right there that goes through the narrow channel for a closer look. Later, drive to Loreto, the historic religious and secular center of Spanish California, and visit the mission and its museum.

- Day 4
Santa Rosalía - Mulegé - Loreto
Spend time at Bahía Concepción, a marine reserve with white sand, blue water, and distinctive Cardón cacti dotting the landscape. Then head to Santa Rosalía to see 19th-century French mining heritage, colonial villas, and the historic mining museum. There's also Gustave Eiffel's iron church if you want to check it out. Stop in Mulegé to see the desert oasis in the Río Santa Rosalía valley. You'll return to Loreto in the evening.

La Paz
Drive through the Sierra de la Giganta mountains to reach Mission San Javier, built in 1699 and considered one of the finest mission buildings in Baja California. Continue on to La Paz, the most Mexican community on the peninsula, where you'll find nice tropical atmosphere and sunsets that people really come for.

- Day 6
La Paz
Take a boat excursion to Espíritu Santo, an uninhabited volcanic island about 90 minutes from La Paz. You'll snorkel with sea lions at Los Islotes colony, explore bays and unique vegetation, relax on sandy beaches, and have a picnic lunch. By late afternoon, head back to La Paz and walk along the Malecón promenade to see the cathedral.

San Antonio - Sierra de la Laguna - Buena Vista
Visit the historic villages of El Triunfo and San Antonio, which were once important mineral resource centers. Walk through the partially restored alleyways to get a feel for their past. If you're up for it, there's an optional hike into the Sierra de la Laguna biosphere following a river through desert thorn forest to Cañón de la Zorra, where a waterfall drops into a granite basin surrounded by endemic blue palms. End the day in Buena Vista.

San José del Cabo
Snorkel at Mermaid Beach in Cabo Pulmo Marine National Park, which has over 350 fish species and the only stony coral reef in the Gulf of California. You'll see sea lions, schools of tuna, and colorful reefs with visibility reaching about 30 meters. After that, drive to San José del Cabo and walk through its small streets, visit handicraft shops and the market square along the riverside. Return your rental car and head out.
