Manchester
You'll arrive in Manchester and settle into your accommodation in the region, about 30 minutes from the airport. This gives you time to get oriented before your main itinerary begins the next morning.

Manchester to York
Start by checking out Yorkshire Dales National Park where you can wander through rolling hills and valleys with chances to spot local wildlife. Later, head to York and walk through this historic city known for its elegant architecture and romantic character. If you're interested, York Minster is open to visit. You'll stay two nights in the York area.

York

York to Lake District
You have flexibility today with two options. One path keeps you in Yorkshire Dales with walks and cycling trails at your own pace, exploring agricultural heritage and heathland. Alternatively, you can venture to Northumberland National Park near the Scottish border to see Hadrian's Wall and Roman sites. Either way, you'll head to the Lake District region and check in for a two-night stay.

Take a boat across Lake Windermere, England's largest natural lake. Depending on your departure time, you might visit the remains of the Roman fortress Galava at Ambleside (free admission). You also have the chance to walk part of the Coast to Coast Walk, the famous 293 km long-distance path that Alfred Wainwright designed.

Lake District to Liverpool
Travel to Blackpool, a Victorian-era seaside resort with lots of classic character. The Blackpool Tower has great views if you want to go up. You can ride nostalgic streetcars and historic wooden roller coasters, or head to Blackpool Pleasure Beach where thrill-seekers can try the UK's highest roller coaster at one of the oldest amusement parks. After that, continue to Liverpool for a two-night stay.
