Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Oslo to Beitostølen
You'll arrive in Oslo and drive toward the Valdres region, heading to Beitostølen in the mountains. The route takes you along either the western or eastern shore of Randsfjord lake, where you get nice views the whole way. Near Dokka there's a special delta landscape with lots of bird activity. By evening you'll reach Beitostølen, which serves as your base for exploring the Jotunheimen mountains.

- Day 2
Beitostølen
This day focuses on checking out Beitostølen and the surrounding Valdres area. The Valdresflya highlands offer great viewpoints looking over the Jotunheimen mountains, which reach nearly 2,500 meters. Hiking trails range from easy highland walks to more demanding treks. You could climb Bitihorn for panoramic views or visit Lake Bygdin. The town has shops, restaurants and cafés to explore.

- Day 3
Beitostølen to Geiranger
You'll drive north on the Valdresflye mountain road through open treeless highlands. From there you continue toward Lom and the Ottadal valley, passing through green landscapes. Stop in Lom to see one of Norway's largest stave churches with beautiful decoration, and grab a break at the Bakeriet Lom café. Døfoss waterfall is worth the stop for its dramatic cascades. The descent from Grotli to Geiranger is spectacular, and you'll see snowfields and glacier tongues even in summer. The toll road to Dalsnibba offers one of the country's best viewpoints.

- Day 4
Geiranger
Around Geiranger, if conditions allow, you can visit the Dalsnibba viewpoint for fjord views. The Trollstigen serpentine road near Isterdalen is worth driving for its narrow switchbacks and fascinating landscape. The Eagle Road offers nice views of the Geirangerfjord UNESCO site. Walk around the village of Geiranger and check out the shops and cafés, including a small chocolate factory. Boat cruises are available to see the Seven Sisters waterfall if you're interested.

Geiranger to Balestrand
You have two route options to reach Sognefjord. Option 1 takes the ferry to Hellesylt and drives to Grodås on Hornindalsvatn, Norway's deepest lake. Option 2 has you driving to Grotli to try the historic Strynfjellsvegen gravel road to Stryn on the Innviksfjord. Either way, you continue along the fjord coast to Loen where a gondola takes you to mountain viewpoints. After that, you drive through the colorful Lake Jølster and follow the Gaularfjell road to Balestrand on Sognefjord, Norway's longest fjord at 204 km.

- Day 6
Balestrand
Today is for relaxing by the Sognefjord or taking an easy hike on the Kreklingen nature trail, which gives you unique views over the fjord from Skåsheim. You'll have time to spend in the peaceful Balestrand area without rushing between activities.

Balestrand to Os
You take the ferry from Balestrand to Vangsnes, then follow winding roads to Vikafhjell for fjord and mountain views. After that, you drive through Voss and continue to the Hardangerfjord, known for its mild climate and fruit plantations. Stop in Nordheimsund to experience local life. Steindalsfossen waterfall has a path behind it for unique photos. You'll drive along side roads through Tysse and Bjørnafjord before reaching Os.

Os to Egersund
You cross the Bjørnafjord and take the ferry from Halhjem to Sandvikväg. The route passes through sea tunnels and suspension bridges along the North Sea coast. You'll reach Haugesund, known as the cradle of Norway for its Viking history. From there you continue through more tunnels and bridges with scenic views. A ferry from Arsv ågen to Mortavika crosses Boknafjord, then you reach Stavanger, Norway's third largest city with a bishop's seat since the 12th century and an impressive cathedral. Later, drive the scenic Jaren route to the small town of Egersund.

Egersund
You'll explore the cozy town of Egersund with its historic wooden houses, nice center with boutiques, restaurants and cafés, and active cultural scene. Take excursions through forests, fields and mountains to experience the varied nature. The coastline is worth exploring by boat or on foot. Nearby attractions include Lysefjord, Magma UNESCO Global Geopark with unique geology, Helleren houses, Trollpikken rock formation, and the cultural village of Sogndalstrand.

Egersund to Åseral
You'll take the narrow coastal road along the North Sea, passing Jøssingfjord and coastal cliffs. Drive through Lundevatnfjord with its very narrow opening to the sea, which marks the border between Fjord Norway and southern Norway. Stop in the small, quiet village of Flekkefjord. Then continue through Kvinesdal valley to Lake Lygne and Fossdal.

Åseral to Oslo
You'll cycle through forests and rolling hills from Fossdal to Arendal on the coast, experiencing the maritime character of Sørlandet. You'll pass through charming towns like Kragerø and lush landscapes. The day mixes natural scenery with stops in towns before you reach the Oslofjord near Drammen and return to the capital.
